The "cross" south of the Troll Woods still has no marble underground.

My point is...
a) you can then see the position of the "crosses" on your map
b) you can guess where a cross is, when it is invisible due to the bug. So I suggest to put all "crosses" (at least the ones in the wilderness) on marble ground again.

And it makes more sense that such a holy pillar is not just put in the middle of nowhere :).

I don't see why they won't just set the freakin' south, west and east cross graphics to the same as the north graphic; the only difference it would make is that you'd actually be able to SEE it. Surely that's an EASY fix to something you WANT?

Because to change the graphics requires a Client update and the current testclient we could update to is incompatible with the gameserver. So it all needs time.
The best and easiest solution would be to put in a small script that gives you the direction you have to move to, to reach the next cross.
