JUS QWAN is like pushing someone.
so i'm right. if one gets pushed, that's engine-play.
if one just emotes, me tries to push (by magic) that would be RP.

Die Sache sieht so aus Korm. JUS QWAN beschwört einen Wind, der das "Opfer" ein paar Tales versetzt, ihn dabei aber von der Engine her nicht verletzt. Da JUS QWAN deshalb von den meisten Leuten einfach ignoriert wird, habe ich bei dieser Situation das emote mitgemacht, um dem Char zu verdeutlichen, dass er von einem Wind ein paar Meter rumgewirbelt wurde. Aber er hats denoch ignoriert. Und so läuft das nicht nur mit dem Wind. Krieger die keine Ahnung von Magie haben gähnen über eine Feuerballillusion, die nur wenige Zentimeter an ihren Kopf vorbeischießt weil die POs wissen dass es nur eine Illusion ist. Wenn ich KEL RA, also einen Feuerball auf jemanden schieße, der dank der ständigen Heulerei der Krieger dermaßen geschwächt wurde dass er effektiv nur noch etwa 1% der Lebensenergie abzieht, scheissen die meisten darauf, dass es ein Feuerball ist der sie da trifft, denn die Engine sagt ihnen, dass es weniger als ein Fliegenschiss ist. Es ist einfach so, dass die Magier so lange sie nicht KEL RA/HEPT QWAN können, mit dem du so gut wie jeden in vier schlägen wölken kannst, beherrschen nicht ernst genommen werden, weil die Magie die wir haben durch die Engine dermaßen geschwächt wurde, dass man gegen niemanden mehr etwas ausrichten kann ohne mindestens 50 - 70% skill in einer der Schulen zu haben. Defakto kann ein Krieger einen Magier der ihn durch die Luft wirbelt, Feuerbälle auf ihn schleudert und ihn anschließend gefriert mit einem luftkuss besiegen, was rein vom RP her purer Müll ist, von der Engine aber geduldet wird.

I like the trap idea...

perhaps quality of the trap could determine how long before they rot

Tetsubishi = Caltrops right?

The actually "beartrap" thing we have as trap is really to dangerous.
By too powerful, I did not mean the traps themselves. It is the person making the traps. So now someone can not move. What would someone do in this case. The person who set the trap runs to their back and beats the stuffing out of them. Getting that advantage they need so they can pk the person with ease. Also, the traps they have now could have the damaged lowered. They could also be based on skill level.

these traps are made for escaping not for pking, you can't possible get around a char if he is immobilized for like 3 seconds, it must just be enough to run away not to kill someone.

So do not run around them, attack them head on. It gives a decisive advantge though, those three seconds. I did not say kill. All I said was that it would aid someone in PKing.

we are talking about chars that actually need to run away, not about figther who bash their heads in, you couldn't use the traps while figthing or maybe 30 seconds after you gave the last attack command, so noone could attack ->lay trap-> attack.

It WAS one tile... And you dont get the time to do more than a quick #me, as most mages are just as quick to ctrl klick as most fighters. That's the problem, you never know what your opponent does, and if for example a mage gets to start his attack, especially while you are writing a long #me, then you are done for it.

That was not bad anyway, we rped the whole situation, not many spells, and no ctrl klicking.

@topic: I like the suggestion.

Since I am here as a player, only one mage I have met to "ctrl+click" (pk) and that was samantha.

I've never seen JUS QWAN push only 1 tile rofl. Lowest I've ever seen is like 4.

Carrying iron tools and all kinds of armors with you decreases your magical power you now oh that and the lack of skill.

@exec: I dislike crtl+click pking, its sensless and doesn't involve any fun for noone, but well it was quiete a confusing situation there.

Yes this is why I wear no armour and carry a wind wand, an icebird, two topaz rings, a cloak, a hat and some cloth gloves.

But still, I've never seen someone cast with metal tools on them.

seems good since i have an archer account BUT, archers who get many of these can make a barrier around themselves and shoot anyone they want without being touched, so fighters will have no choice but to run, (mages wont) very good idea :)

No one likes forced roleplay even if it's from an item.

Having them work always will be guaranteed to result in more abuse.

Besides, a lot of things in illa really don't require much skill in real life..

You have to toss it around rightish, not so they all roll aside.
With fishing you have to stand still and not splash the water up too heavily.. so the fish do not flee... And sometimes think how deep to fish.. Should we dissable fishing?
Alchemy is just putting the correct amount of the correct things together too, it hardly requires any skill unless I am gravely missunderstanding...

I think we should have it a skill if we have it..

I like the "trap" idea here. It would give thieves a chance to escape and they could be used to catch people ;) .

To the mages:
If you dislike warriors attacking after being pushed many tiles or whatever you do to them. Then expect to be attacked at the first sign of slight hostility by some warriors. People know a mage with a decent bit of skill can kill any warrior if they know what they are doing. So, expect mote Ctrl+clicks on your mage if you try knocking down people often.
