Well this would only happen with stupid fighters, which you saw all the time in the old times, like in wars in stuff, only the strong survived. Mind, they where thrown into but point is all the same, don't take on more then you can chew. As for criminals collectively trying to kill oficials, well that is a smart idea on there behalf isn't it. Assassinations where constantly being done on the kings and everything else if the person could beneifit from it. Though there wouldn't be much point to assassinate anyone in this game as i think all governments are a democracy and not anarchy like you would expect. I am good with this and think it should be implemented. There is the fact that most characters will die after a few years, but that would be a good thing because now you don't have uber characters running around. This would force people that want to excel in something choose only that, instead of doing the millions of other things they do now. This would be a good way to keep fresh bloob ig and perhaps actually get the mages to teach a bit faster, i get the impression now they are taking there dear sweet time to make it more accurate rp wise. This is very good and should make people take death seriously.Taeryon Silverlight wrote:Giving characters permadead after x times of being clouded is nonsense. Crafters would last forever and warriors who start to train would get permadead before they have raised good skills.

I disagree with permadeath. This would take a char and RPing too much oog. An accidental ghosting of char, and the "count-down" of lives would begin.... every ghosting would be discussed with a GM and complained about. I also don't think this solves the original problem. A PO can just make more chars again and build their strength by PGing which would make the criminals just further apart, but they would still be there. These new chars, who would want to do much RPing of these chars to other chars knowing they will eventually have a permadeath?
There are a couple of chars I would rarely play if this was implemented, and only in the safest places.
As far as towns and criminals.... why does only one town have a jail, and the jail never has keys?
However, in my opinion, the ig play is a lot more interesting with some of these criminals... a "completely safe" criminal free world would be a totally different game.

"Only the strong survive". YOU CAN'T GET STRONG IN ILLA IF YOU CAN'T SURVIVE WITH PERMA DEATH. T_T
Seriously, the whole thing is ridiculous; it could so easily be abused, and I know lots of people who happily pk people with minimal rp. Noobs would pk... monsters kill a lot... and it shouldn't be up to a system whether you perma die. It should be up to the player. It's severely open to abuse "Oh let's kill someone enough times that they die because they're against us" or whatever.

Of course they will, that's the beauty of the game.. Like said before, we'd have a huge reduction of uber chars, and those wanting to keep them, would play a bit more wisely. And of course that there will always be bandits, but at least those won't return after every time you kill them, and maybe even more powerful after a huge session of Pg'g.

Curiously how the fear of death can influence the RP, making you know that your char is not actually immortal, isn't it? hehe
Who would want to hang arround dangerous criminals in the RL? I wouldn't

Mearly a bad organisation matter. As I said before, each town is responsible for their own internal politics, not an OOC matter.
Dito.. how right can you be.. heheheHowever, in my opinion, the ig play is a lot more interesting with some of these criminals... a "completely safe" criminal free world would be a totally different game.

Double post

That's called assasination Alex, a perfectly good RP reason, bringing much more RP situations in the game. Like: someone hires assasins to eliminate their enemy (bam, a real job for assasin chars), the targeted man can find out or not about it and stay hidden, hire mercs to protect him, whatever, lots of possibilities.. I see no problem hereAlexRose wrote: It's severely open to abuse "Oh let's kill someone enough times that they die because they're against us" or whatever.

My solution:
If you're killed by a PLAYER (and not by a creature or a GM accident gone wrong), you lose -3 to constitution.
If you're killed by a CREATURE, you lose -1 to constitution.
Constitution lost this way increases by 1 each 2 RL months.
Once constitution reaches 0, you die, permanently.
You can increase these at the GM's discretion, for good RP, or the favour of the gods.

One word: No.
More than one word: It will just cause players who want to play the bad guy to pg until they can not be beat by anyone and then go around pwning others. This has nothing to do with player character connections, but people who will abuse this system. If a character needs to be permakilled because they are abusing the fact that they are clouded an then return to attack people when the guards are off line, let it be done between the players and the staff.
The death of a character should be the players decision unless they have been abusing situations ig. Kill your character when you feel the time and place is right.
