Ashayen rose slowly from the chair and stored the ink-pot, the quill and the parchment back in her bag. For hours she sat in front of the parchment, stared at it helplessly with the quill in the hand. Every time when she wanted to start writing she laid the quill back on the table, with a sigh and continued to stare at the parchment, more thoughtfully than before.
She was angry at herself.. for not beeing able to write the own thoughts down on the parchment. "But it must be done ..." were the words as she leaved Bane through the westgate.
She buried the hands in the pockets of her black coat and wrinkled the forehead as she felt something small and angular under her fingertips. Slowly she pulled the hand out again.. with the small, glittering diamond. She slowed the steps down and stared with glassy eyes at the stone in the palm of her hand. With sorrow and sadness in her voice, she whispered "By the gods, Marlos ... why? Why do you had to die?"
Ashayen put the stone with a quick motion back in the pocket of her coat and reached for her bag. She pulled a half-filled bottle out of it, uncorked it and took a large gulp of the yellow-sweetish liquid. Afterwards she looked at the bottle and shrugged with the shoulders, indifferently "Your loss... Bob. But i know it's an ease for you to get a new one. Unfortunately, things disappear too fast ... like friends."
She sighed at the last word and grimaced "Friends.. pff. Where are they?! ... first Marlos, then Edward ... and now.. i lose him and ... that shall be love? ..tz, no!"
Ashayen shook the head with a cold and disappointed gaze and stopped speaking as she noticed that she stood directly in front of the harbour. She walked along the footbridge, rather quick and took a seat at the end of it. She laid herself back, on the snow covered wood and looked up into the night sky..she took a gulp out of bottle with mead and her gaze became bitter the longer she stared up at the stars. The only words which crawled over her lips in that night were ".. but it remains a sweet sin"

Ashayen sat in the soft sand Varshikars, near the small lake of the oasis ... a quite unusual and foreign place for her. But it was probably the best place of refuge after she left the tavern in bane ... and Cawdor.
She felt sick at the bare thought of the events, nevertheless, her heart still attached to him ... but that was the last resort. She wasn't happy anymore ... both were just too different.
Too different..
Ashayen blinked under her bitter gaze and turned the head, looking over the shoulder.
...well, now even 'he' and she were different.
The grey-blue eyes rested on the sleeping man, who layed in the sand right next to her and snored quietly.
'Bob'
Her lips curled up to a light smile as she looked back ahead. But not long and her lips escaped a sigh .. somewhat frustrated.
"Who knows, maybe that is the proof therefor that a new door will always open - a gleam of hope, a.. hold in the darkness- after all what happened and how hopeless everything looked like."
She could have cursed as she crossed his way just at the moment of helplessness and it's so true that Bob had ruined her plans from one moment on the other as he offered her the friendship. Of course, she'd never considered that possible... maybe because the impression which you might have when you meet him isn't the one that he could be a man who drools over a friendship.
Ashayen closed the eyes, enjoying the silence and inhaled deeply before she rose and brushed off the sand of her clothes. She passed Bob as quiet and carefully as possible and stopped then, facing him. Her thoughtful gaze traveled over him again and again. Ashayen tightened the lips together and exhaled deeply when staring down to him... lost in the thoughts which crawled through her mind. But then, after a whole while, she opened her lips and whispered quiet and warm "Thank you.." before she leaved this place, quickly.

The snow gleamed delightful in the bright light of the moon ... almost as if the forest ground was laid out with tiny small diamonds. The big, thick trees still threw deep, black shades and in one of those stood Ashayen.
Her thoughtful and determined gaze rested on the silver blade of the dagger, which she was holding in her hands, carefully ... 'her' dagger.
She'd never wanted to carry a weapon... but the time seemed to be there, too many riffraff crawls through the dark streets and her marked soul wasn't able anymore to bear with the fact for beeing the perfect victim.
Her decision was made ... after the last events.
Just one name came into her mind as soon as she has to think of it... Ravaelo ... when you would look into his eyes you could see the charming, dreamy shine in them and still he is a man of courage and honour.
Ashayen's lips formed a light smile and her gaze which rested on the blade still, was dreamy. And what courage he had as he suddenly went between her and the stranger who threatens her whenever he crosses the way of Ashayen. The man raised his staff and the tip pointed directly at the chest of Ravaelo. The eyes of the stranger gleamed with light anger and his decision was clear.. torturing Ravaelo... tortures Ashayen should have suffered...
Ashayen saw such bravery very seldom, which she admired, somehow... and she appreciated it, even very much. It's just a pity that she hadn't the chance to thank him for his help, for...everything. But maybe one day.
A cold breeze met Ashayens pale face and she immediately started to blink before her dreamy gaze disappeared. She glanced around to all directions... still everything was quiet and so she let the dagger disappear under the black coat, before she started to tramp through the snow ... deeper into the forest, muttering quietly "We should hurry...for the next round"

Ashayen tramped in the direction of the west-gate, the eyes filled with light anger, the muscles were tightened and the breath was quick and heated.
She directly walked to the fireplace at the fields and took a seat, she even didn't care about the snow on the trunk on which she sat herself.
Her slender body seemed to relax due to the warmth of the fire...though the angry glitter remained in her grey-blue eyes. Anger about herself!?
She ran into the arms of Aleytys very often in the last days.. well, nothing bad with that... but Ashayen wasn't in the mood to talk about her man, Edward.
Wherever he was...and whatever he did... Ashayen was just disappointed for receiving no single sign from him, from someone who she called once a 'friend'.
Ashayen smiled in a somewhat broken manner and her lips escaped a quiet sigh. The feeling of melancholy overwhelmed her when she thought back to Aleytys, who she had left in town.
It hurt her soul a lot to see the torture of that woman, that woman who let fall the veil of pride and who seemed to appear somewhat shy... though Ashayen let her feel the complete opposite of her own feelings.
The lips of Ashayen formed a disappointed smile when she shook her head at the same time and she quietly began to whisper: "I don't care anymore about you, you little bastard. But you shouldn't forget to ease the heartache of your beloved woman... who seems to go through hell without you."
She took a deep breath and moistened her lips with the tip of her tongue, letting out a long sigh when staring down into the dancing flames of the fire. Ashayen sat there for a long while... lost... and nothing more than a puppet for so many.

Her delicate fingers twiddled with an old and dirt parchment while her slender body was leaned calm against the trunk of an appletree. The big grey-blue eyes, which seemed to be filled with different emotions, observed the movements of her fingers. She stood there long and didn't stop the staring at the slip of paper... lost in memories.
Suddenly, she raised her chest and filled her lungs with the fresh and cold air as she took a deep breath. Her fingers began to wrinkle the parchment up and she held it firmly in her hand, which was turned into a fist now. She exhaled in the same deep and long manner and her eyes slowly got filled with anger...again.
He was back. She waited for that so long and still, the feeling of disappointment seemed to overwhelm her as he stood there in the tavern. Of course she would had loved it to offer him a warm welcome, but as he started to see all the things like they once were before he went... she just coulnd't control herself and truly, his presence just made her sick...his smirk, his grin.
The last weeks were hard for her, she lost everything and she became more and more unsure about her existence on that isle.
And still... nobody cared... and so she just shrugged it off and drew a line under the whole matter.
"Maybe it's time to start a new beginning. You've grown older, you've experienced so much, you've 'learned' so much...isn't it time to apply all these thing, hun?"
Her forehead was wrinkled, the eyes narrowed and for the first time she truly seemed to ponder about the whole matter. She tried it so often, but everytime she failed and fell back to 'her' roots. The more she thought about it, the determined got her gaze and her lips began to form a half-hearted smile whilst the eyes gleamed of smugness. Ashayen pushed herself off from the trunk, let the slip of paper fall down on the snow, carelessly and began to tramp towards trolls bane.

"Ashayen...who do you see when you close your eyes?" that was the question which Kaila asked and she wasn't able to get it out of her mind. Even now...hours later...as she lay there, in the middle of a big meadow. Her pitch black hair waved softly in the upcoming breeze, the pale face directed to the sky and the spring sunshine reflected itself in her grey-blue eyes which sparkled lively.
Ashayen told Kaila who she saw when she closes her eyes, but was that really the only person?
Ashayen shook the head a bit and her soft lips escaped a quiet sigh, before she folded an arm, placing it right under her head. She knew that there was another person... Edward.
"But why do i care? Do i even care ... still?"
After the harsh conversation in the tavern she felt like falling back into a small little hole. First Cawdor, which she had dumped and then... her friend. Why couldn't she just been happy that he's back, alive!?
She grimaced somewhat annoyed, either of her own feelings, which she seemed to hide for an unknown reason, or because of the smirking lips which she saw upon his face and which caused that she felt totally misunderstood. But...wasn't it 'she' who wasn't able to understand. Wasn't it she who seemed not interested in his words and showed him the back?
She shrugged indifferently and rolled on her side, still resting the head on the folded arm. A frown was visible in her face, still seemingly unsure what to do and her gaze wasn't that lively anymore. She rised the free hand and the delicate fingers brushed over the soft, sapgreen grass right in front of her "Sometime...everything has to fade away.."
Her lips formed an unconvinced smile, but her grey-blue eyes began to sparkle again, dreamy...as she rised her voice lightly, starting to hum a quiet melodie with her smooth voice... from a song which was played in the tavern.

The moon was standing high at the sky, gleaming bright through the branches of the big tree..two people laying under it.
Two friends, lightly snuggled against each other.. to warm and protect each other.
Nevertheless... just one of the two were in a deep sleep.
Ashayen stared into his calm and peaceful face.. a soft smile visible. Though her gaze showed still the disbelief, as if it wouldn't be real.
But she fell back to reality as she fixed her painful gaze upon his bandages. A caring sigh escaped her lips and she rolled on her back as careful as possible.
"Mhh...strange people you hang around with, dear." were his words in the tavern and they still echoed in her ears which caused an amused smile upon her face as she glanced up into his face, whispering quietly into his direction "So true.."
The last weeks, mainly the last days were hard for her. There was the constant feeling inside her, the feeling of hope and the fear for his life.
But she had luck... she had been through all this with a very warm and caring person who tried everything to ease the pain.
If it hadn't been for Ravaelo she would have gone insane. She never felt such painful feelings for anybody before, which seemed to alarm her, the grief, the worry...but it's understandable when you fear for a friends life, or not?
Ashayen blinked and glanced to Edward with a light frown, before she rolled herself on the other side.. and then on the stomach. Her doubtful eyes stared at the bark of the tree as she turned the gaze from him as well.
Her face was more pale than usual, her eyes still reddened...the exhaustion clearly visible. But..there was something in her eyes, a weak lively gleam. It seemed to appear as she finally could wrap the arms around Edward again and she had the feeling that a big burden fell down her shoulders at the same time. But.. he promised it to her... to survive.
Nevertheless..it still pains her heart..to care for his wounds. And she was completely mystified how Aleytys and Edward could feel such a hate for each other.
Ashayen's lips trembled as the took a deep breath through her lightly opened lips. She turned the head then and looked into his visage.
Her gaze became thoughtful the longer she looked at Edward. She thought about some things which were mentioned in the talk they had...and which even showed a new "door".
Maybe a way out of the life of laziness.
She merely shrugged and inhaled deep through her nose before she closed the eyes with some quiet muttered words "I'll give it a try... for my.." . She tightened the lips together and suppressed the last word/s... why? ... who knows.

And again there was someone who left her.
Someone who grew so close to her and that in such a short time.
Ashayen was more than curious to find out why Ravaelo had to go..so suddenly.
But sitting in the tavern, listening to the other people who had to argue in a louder tone as usual...she just wasn't able to hold a serious conversation, which she completely regret now. Because...she knew and could feel that Ravaelo himself wasn't ready to go. A pity that she knew too less about him, he cared about her in her bad times so warmly and maybe even too much that she missed the chance to get to know him. But...maybe there will be another chance?
Ashayen grimaced as she sat in front of a small bush, in the middle of a forest and as her fingers began to travel over the cold material of her wristband, she whispered "My dear friend. I... just hope that you are fine. Be strong, whatever your task over there is...be strong and...come back."
Though, her days wouldn't become that unspectacular, because finally she had found a task for herself and... there was still Edward. Luckily, his wounds seemed to heal very good and it seems that he already was in the best of health again. But...something was strange. She didn't knew what, but sometimes ... she just had the feeling that the words which came out of his mouth wouldn't come from himself. Maybe he has changed? During the time he was away? Who knows what exactly happened there...
Ashayen shook her head and furrowed the brows as she already stood up again. She brushed rather rough over the coat, cleaning it from leaves and fir needles. She lifted her head and looked up at the darkening sky before her lips revealed an impish smile "It's time for a drink, hun.." Ashayen nodded to herself before she picked the sickle up from the forest soil. She stored the sickle in her bag and took a deep breath, before she burrowed her hands in each of her coat pockets. Then she slowly began to walk through the forest...in the direction of trolls bane.

The ship arrives Gynkeesh after a very stormy cruise. The noises from the harbour and the hoarse yells from the sea-gulls around him, he stood on the roof railing, the backpack beside him.
With a nervous gesture he runs with his hand through the dark-blond hair.
The scars on his back, always hide under his casual white shirts, burning again, to recall him why he was here, why he has left so suddenly Ashayen and Gobaith.
Ashayen, never he had met a woman like her. The silvery wristband was given to her as a simple pledge to come back. For her he would move heaven and earth to come back soon as possible and stay --- alive.
With a hard glint in his melancholic eyes he shoulders finally the bag, facing his destiny on Gynkeesh again.

Ashayen had to grin as she entered the little room underneath the tavern of trolls bane...'her' room, at least for a little while.
Her grey-blue eyes sparkled lively as she let her gaze travel about the room.
She slowly made some slow steps forward, approaching the fire place with the chairs. She sat down in one of them and opened the knobs of her coat bit by bit while she observed the dancing flames of the fire.
It felt good to have an own little place where you can retract yourself whenever you want to, but...surely, she would miss the calm nights outside of trolls bane as well.
But she knew that...whenever she would cross 'his' way..she wouldn't say no to let him keeping her safe over the night.
That's what he said...and again, the feeling of curiosity overwhelmed her but would she ever be ready to ask him 'why' and 'what' is going on!?
It wasn't the case that she wouldn't like his presence, on the contrary. But can it really be that his "new" sides were always hidden because of her?
She couldn't believe that, maybe..she just won't to believe that.
Ashayen tightened the lips together after she placed the removed coat on her lap. She slowly crossed her legs and leaned a little to the side, bringing an elbow on the armrest of the chair to support the chin with the hand. She brought the delicate fingers of the other hand to the necklace around her neck and began to trace the outlines. She furrowed the brows and observed the flames of the fire with a serious gaze, before she sighed quietly...muttering gentle "I can't help it, my... friend but...something is different. But...what?"

He was sitting in the basement of the Tavern. It was really late, or quite early.. depending on how one preferred to look at things. The door had been open and he had walked in.. and now he sat there, waiting.. waiting.. with time passing torturously slow. One bottle of wine rested empty on the floor already and another had been just opened. He felt how fatigue was slowly taking over him, or maybe it was the wine.. or something else altogether. He couldn't tell.
A quiet sigh broke the silence as his gaze shifted around the empty room. The chair creaked softly as he leaned back and extended his legs towards the fireplace. It sounded like there were more people in the tavern.. but it was not really why he was here. He was there, as he hoped that he could deliver a nice surprise for.. his friend.
He couldn't resist the urge to grin somehow amusedly. There he sat, alone.. waiting for someone who didn't have the faintest idea that he was down there to begin with. How peculiar..
"Strangest thing, my hummingbird.."

The rising sun was hiding behind some dark clouds which adorned the sky and gave the houses a shade of a light grey. Silence dominated the empty streets of trolls bane and nonetheless one could have heard the shuffle of some shoes, as a slender figure made her way through the streets.
Ashayen fixed the ground, thoughtfully as she walked further on. A nice thought gleamed in her mind which let her appear stunned at the same time .. "What a night..."
It was indeed a surprise.. a very delightful surprise as she entered her room in the early afternoon. Her gaze fell immediately over towards the fireplace and it seemd that her heart stopped moving for a fraction of a second as she spotted him. "Why is he here?" was the first thought which came into her mind as she slowly walked closer to him.
She had the feeling that he seemed to like her presence more than ever before.
Which wasn't a thing to wonder about... his life has changed during the last weeks and in such times.. friends are always good to distract someones thoughts from the past.
But still... she find the whole relation to him a bit strange. With every meeting she got more nervous, though she tried the best to appear self-confident but at the same time she had to admit that she really enjoyed his presence.. a lot.
But why? Why did she was overwhelmed by nervousness? Maybe because of his cryptical words, which she seemed to take too serious sometimes.. or did she felt more than friendship?
"No!"
.. that word came immediately over her lips, though very quietly and with an unsure tone in her smooth voice.
Her slender fingers reached for the grass as she bended over to pick up a small, yellow flower. The peduncle of the flower were placed between her thumb and her index finger as she began to examine it from all sides. Not long and she tossed the flower away, carelessly and she walked further over the meadow with a hard glint in her eyes.
"Don't be that stupid, Ashayen! How can you even think that he means what he say all the time. I guess you know him better, don't you?"
She approached a big tree in the middle of the meadow and let her slender body glide down, along the bark of the tree. The fabric of her white shirt which covered her back shoved more up as she sank down with the bare skin brushing roughly over the hard and sharp bark which caused her some scratches on her back...but she didn't care.
She burrowed her pale face in the palm of her hands and cradled herself slowly back and forth, feeling how the confusion overwhelmed her the more she thought about him.
The last night with him was something she couldn't resist to think about. One sentence.. just 'that' one sentence changed her whole emotional world. And then.. the silence, the unbelievable silence which caused that the moment won't pass by as she stared into his green eyes, speechless.
Both weren't able to speak.. and 'that' was the most strangest thing. That even he said nothing.
Wouldn't it be nice if you would have the chance to look in someones mind!?
Ashayens lips form a light smile as she lifted the face from her hands and she slowly pulled a small book out of her bag...writing something down with the help of a piece of coal, seemingly trying to distract her thoughts from him.

The room was dark, with only very dim light coming from the glowing embers of the fireplace. Even the embers was slowly growing dimmer as the fire finally begun to die out. It didn't really bother him. He didn't have to see anything this night. He could feel her warm breath against his skin every time she exhaled.. calmly.. in deep sleep. He enjoyed her company very much for sure.. but what did he really want? Did he even know? His hand ruffled heir thick hair gently and his lips curled to a light smile as he inhaled deep, filling his nose with the scent of her hair.
Was she just a shoulder to rest his head on.. temporarily? Or was she why he had lost his interest in Aleytys to begin with? It was strange.. how he had quite indifferent to the lack of emotions from Aleytys, but when she had been angry with him.. he had actually cared about his.. friend. He really didn't know what he should think.. or how he felt. He felt something.. but only time would show what.
He chuckled quietly in the growing darkness and buried his fingers deep to her hair.. carefully not to wake her up. Life was like a bottle of stong Dwarven booze. Once you open up the cork, you never know where you'll wake up in the morning.

The sweetness from her lips rest still in his mind, her eyes dancing and spinning around in his head. The scent from her hair draw a curtain over his thoughts.
After the painful part to tell her the story of his immediately leaving and past it was truly one of the best days in his life. This moment as his lips found hers seems growing for him to a small eternity. He wasn't sure why or wherefore.
His lips curled in a smile as he thought back. He begins to murmurs quiet to himself, rubbing over the scar tissues on his back which pained him from time to time.
* I saw the sundown in the west, saw if the ocean touched the sky there, met hundred of people, good and wicked, hear her songs and story's.
I was in the north, east, west and south, stuck to my dreams, saw trueness and falsehood. I was on the highest top from mountains, stood in the perpetual ice, came from the estuary to the fount and I think you should know... It is none like you, my sweet Star. It seems my path is ending here, finally..*
With a soft sigh he lean back at the bark from the tree and closing his eyes.
He dreams .....

"Another day... another chance"
Those words weren't that untrue, but... a chance for what?
Ashayen pursed the lips when unlocking the door of her room with an annoyed look. The talk with Ravaelo pushed her mood down, hearing all the painful things about his past let her feel thoughtful. The tender kiss which followed caused a strange feeling inside her. She didn't really knew why it happened, maybe she felt just too sorry for him in that situation and so she just wanted to show him that she cared.. about him. What a bizzare way to do so, but it wouldn't be Ashayen when she would let these chance untouched.
She could smile about the gesture with the wristband which he had given her before he leaved the isle. Yet, she was going to give it back to him but he insists on keeping it.
She took a seat on the chair right in front of the fire and raised the arm, revealing the silvery wristband. Her eyes stared at it before she finally let out a soft sigh, slowly letting the arm sink back down again. She shook her head and grimaced a little. "That was not right, my friend. I'm not the right person who deserves such a present... even if 'you' would see the whole matter from an other point of view."
She may know now about his past, but he.. well, he knew nothing about her and when he would.. he would see her with different eyes, for sure. But who cares, they both enjoy there young lifes 'now' and how would Edward say... time will show how this all will end. At least, the luck seemed to be on her side in finding new friends..

The small pearls of sweat ran along her temples till they sinked itself in the black hair line, they felt cold on the warm skin of her face which revealed even some lightly reddened cheeks. Ashayen had no fever, no...she was just laying in her bed, deeply snuggled under the blanket and staring at the free space right next to her with an unusual pale face..somehow feeling sick. She slowly turned around on her back, staring up at the ceiling of the small and dark room, muttering with a faint voice "Uhh, maybe the wine wasn't good enough...i shouldn't drink my own one..". The delicate fingers wiped the pearls of sweat from her forehead and both hands were placed on the blanket, right above her stomach. She didn't care that her whole body felt sweaty under the blanket since her thoughts seem to linger about just one thing since some days...one thing that caused even a feeling of yearning. When becoming aware of that, she started to feel like a teenager who had to admit to fell in love....fell in love with a grown man.
Ashayen closed the eyes firmly and bit on her lower lip, with the heart beating even a bit faster. She swallowed lightly by the fact to admitting how she felt cause that would led into nothing....nothing than disappointment and even more. Just the pure vision about a happy ending made her chuckle in a sardonic manner. "Dream on girl.." with that disappointed mutter she suddenly opened the grey-blue eyes, gazing at the free space in her bed again. Her eyes shimmered of pure desire for him...him, that man who... "Yes, darling. That man who'll never get. Where is he at all, hu? You haven't seen him since days and you know that you can be sure what he's doing in that time."
She nodded to herself and sighed sadly, with the shoulder slumping lightly. Ashayen gritted the teeth the more she thought about her own wild thoughts and slowly pushed herself up to sit in the bed.
It was hard to suppress the own feelings but she knew that it would be better the earlier she started to do so. Maybe it was even time to speak with him, telling him the truth but heh...no, for those steps she was definitely to shy.
Ashayen swung the legs out of the bed and abruptly had to close the eyes firmly as she were overwhelmed by dizziness. With a quiet curse and some quick movements of her hand she pulled her clothes closer to herself, slowly putting them on. Actually she hoped that the sickness might go away while she just layed in the bed but surprisingly she felt like taking a walk in the hope to get rid of it...or to flee from her own feelings..

And there she sat now .. alone .. with the palm of her hand surrounding the old ring.
The footsteps of the old, weak man who just walked out of the room where still hearable as he walked along the street.
The creakling chair interrupted the silence in the room as the young woman leaned more back, thoughtfully.
Her grey-blue eyes stared at the hospital bed in front of her wondering about the story it could share with her...the story about death and life..
She glanced to the door with a quick movement of her head .. the brows narrowed .. the gaze spoke out of confusion.
Was that all just an illusion?
Ashayen shook the head as she tightened the grip around the warm metal of the ring, unconsciously. That old man who was close to death and lay here in the bed just some moments ago seemed to have caused a chaos .. with her feelings.
Maybe good .. but maybe bad as well.
Because it was about life and death as well.
"Why..just why do i had to tell it?" she whispered with a faint and desperate voice.
After the conversation with Magnus, hours ago, she was at the point that her views about her ... "problem" were already decided, she was quite determined.
But when the old man with his weak and hoarse voice suddenly asked..
"Why do you helped an old beggar, near the dead?"
..it just came out of her
"Maybe...because i await some...new life.."
.. maybe because she was in an inner conflict. Was she happy to be pregnant? Proud? Could she be really proud .. when considering the fact how others may think about the father of the child? Would 'he' be proud? Would he be backing her and the unborn all the way?
Ashayen snort in a mocking way, the lips are formed to a crooked and knowing smile when she nearly hisses "Of course not!"
Thereupon she sighed deeply before she leaned more back in the chair.. bringing the ring into one of the pockets of her coat, reluctantely. With folded hands upon her stomach and crossed legs, she slowly tipped the head back to stare up at the ceiling. Desperation seemed to overwhelm her which slowly brought the tears into her eyes.
The time has come to speak with Edward. It was time to explain how things are and also her point of view. But, just the pure thought of it caused panic. How will he react?
She rose from the chair with a discontented smile upon her face, brushed away some crinkles from the coat and straightened the collar of her shirt. She slowly approached the door, but not before letting the watery eyes travel around the room in a disconcerting manner, muttering quietly "The task is to figure it out.."

It was as if his fingers had felt tingling as they touched the skin of her belly on the previous eve. A child.. by the gods. His child.. and yet he had stayed on the wretched island.. and promised to stay with her. How many other women he had coldly, or in the cover of the night, left as they had given him same kind of news?
After she told him the news, he had walked down to the harbour. He had stood on the pier and promised to himself that he would board the next ship that was about to leave. Yet strangely, ship after ship had raised their anchor and sailed away into the horizon, before finally as the evening was already making way for the night he was forced to admit that he could not leave. Not now. Not this time. Something had changed.. He knew he would never become a good man.. and that he still was rotten inside, but.. not as badly as before.
His lips curled to a light grin as he glanced down at the bottle of wine on the table and shook his head. One drink would not be enough for him, and he was having doubts if even one bottle was. A goddamn child. He had to smile.

First he running, running without any care for anything or anybody. He run without an aim, blinded from several tears in his eyes.
The big stump from a apple tree stop this run immediately, he falling over, hitting hard to the ground and gasps for air. With a despaired look in his eyes he pulls himself in a sitting position with a curse.
It seems all strength falling from him and he leaning back on the stump, rubbing his knees in a helpless gesture, staring blank in the air.
Ashayen was pregnant. Pregnant from this old man, this cruel mercenary who's throwing scoff over all people and everything. And it seems she was fallen in love to this man, finally.
Well, she had never lied to him, always she has said that she only feeling friendship for him. But he had hoped in time he can enter her heart to make his dream true.
A deep sigh penetrate the silence of this afternoon.
His hands rubbing over his back, the scars thereabout seeming him to pain this hours, more then usual.
I swear my Star when he treat you badly then I will show my other side.
I love you my star, whatever you do, wherever you are, I just love you, forever
So he utters. Exhausted from his long run and sorrow he closed his eyes. The sun moves on her way to the west and only what she can see was a motionless man sitting at a stump.

Ashayen uncorked the small bottle from Guir with trembling hands and emptied the liquid with some fast gulps. The bitter taste burnt on her tongue and so she grimaced with a disgusted groaning "Eww.. what a disgusting taste."
Now she only had to hope that the reassuring effect of the drink would work ... and her stomach wouldn't defend itself against the drink. She let the empty bottle disappear in her bag and shifted her distraught look up in the night sky.
The last events caused that she couldn't find sleep, she just turned from one side to the other in her bed..again and again with the feeling her head would explode any minute.
She knew the meeting with Ravaelo wouldn't be easy, cause she knew that his feelings for her were always stronger than the feelings of pure friendship. Fear pulsed in her veins as she explained in a hesitant manner that she's pregnant and her heart seemed to race as he finally told her that he fell in love with her.
As he then ran out of her room, hastily.. it was her only wish to follow him... to hold him... tight.. cause the thought to lose him now completely and forever, pained her a lot. But she remained sitting on her chair.. motionless, feeling drained and sad.
But there were still Guir who had heared everything and cared about her. Maybe this was even wrong cause only some few hours later he told her that she was grown close to his heart.
She tried her best the following days to distract herself from the thoughts of these both men with a lot of work and she even appreciated the next class with Magnus... strangely, the weak, hoarse voice of the old man echoed quite often in her ears. "Sharp your eyes and you will find the man who loves you truely."

The room was dark, the warm light from the fireplace slowly started to fade away...taking the warmth with it. It was like the room would adjust to the dolorous atmosphere.
A quiet whisper was audible which break the silence more and more when Ashayen even start to whine. Those quiet and pitiable noises came over her trembling and lightly parted lips which were moistened by the salty tears of dolefulness. The smooth skin appeared more pale than usual and her eyes already began to redden. She was shivering, there...laying under the blanket of her bed with some pearls of sweat upon her forehead. Her trembling fingertips moved with gentle strokes over her belly which visible wasn't that rounded anymore. She wasn't able to prevent from doing so, the yearning for making things undone was stronger than accepting how things are. It would take a long while till the anguish would fade away...'if' it would fade away.
Ashayen's whimper became even louder as again the feeling of guilt overwhelmed her. She truely started to believe that when she wouldn't have worked that much then she wouldn't lie in the bed now...alone.
The feeling of letting go was painfully and Ashayen was not ready to make this step yet...but as she slowly turned around in her bed to face the grey wall...she took a deep breath. She slowly closed the eyes when licking over the salty lips and swallowed before she started to hum and to sang with her shaky, smooth voice..
Fly, fly little wing
Fly, where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light.
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget

Go now, find the light.
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
It was a strange feeling that she felt. She felt the simmer of hate deep inside herself... a feeling that she had never felt before..not in that strong way. Indeed, it is interesting how special happenings can change a person but all in all it is not just 'her'.
To accept the miscarriage wasn't easy for her. Often, she sat in front of the small grave of her own flesh and blood, numbed and silent. The tears, which ran over her pale cheeks like a hot river out of grief, flowed freely...but it didn't help... cause the wish that all was only a dream and she still would become a proud mother.. well, that would not happen.
The constant disputes between her and Edward pulled on her nerves as well. Why, by all the gods, why wasn't he able to accept her friends in her nearness? He had problems with everybody who has grown close to her heart. And even her friends felt upcoming hate for him and they could not understand how Ashayen could love this..bastard.
Ashayen had to chuckle as a single thought crossed her mind. Edward, standing in front of her with a tiltened head and with his foot shuffling over the ground while feeling uncomfortable..
But her facial features hardened just one moment later and her grey-blue eyes shimmered despitefully whilst she scratched over the itching back of her hand. She observed her fingers with a lowered gaze. The pressure of the scratching fingers became more and more firmly, they almost tried to "remove" 'his' symbol. But nothing helped...the symbol on her hand did not want to disappear.
It was time that Raven Shadow disappeared. He has crossed her way already too long and too often. Wherever he came.. he should finally disappear...he should bring Guir back and should take...the symbol from her. The 'why' about giving her the rune was still incomprehensible to her. Why did he do this? This question crawled through her mind all day long...and she was unsure whether she really wanted an answer from 'him' or whether she should wait till Guir is back!?

Why, by all gods, you can't accept that she loves the *old man* ?
Ravaelo mutters and shooks slow his head, leaning on the cold, icy pinnacle from the Northgate.
It was true, he was currently not often in town, still the fear to see her with him oder Guir makes him sadly and depressed. But his swear to have an eye of her stands still, too. After his voting at the library she runs in his arms and leaves just as suddenly.
He sighed deeply, knowing that he not could show his feelings.
Don't be a wimp Ravaelo, you could handle this - pull yourself together -
The quiet curse fades away with the wind and the man stands still with closed eyes at the pinnacle, don't care about the falling snow....

The Wedding ((Sorry for the delay :s))
The nimble carrack was making it's way swiftly over the sea, thanks to the strong winds which made it's sails bulge and pushed the vessel towards the mainland. The captain had been very cooperative when Edward had shown generosity with the payment for the journey, which had been enough for them to be given what seemed to be the most comfortable cabin of the ship. The various nautical charts and navigational instruments scattered around the cabin hinted for the fact that the captain himself had given his own quarters for the two.
Edward had planned for a secret wedding somewhere on the island. However, he had to confess that she probably was right when she wanted to have the ceremony on the mainland. Maybe it was better to travel away from it all, as the day could easily be ruined by one loudmouthed peasant who would have been determined to disturb the event. The Gods know, that the island is plentiful when it came to such people. Besides, there were only a handful of people they would have invited anyway.
On the second day, the captain had been grinning like a jackal. He had said that should the winds stay as strong as they are, the ship should reach the shores near Albar on the morning of the fourth day. Judging from the cheerfulness of the captain and the rest of the crew, that seemed to be a very good achievement for a ship of that size. The days were mostly spent inside the cabin and they did little to familiarize themselves with the crew. Why should they? They were simply the means of transportation, nothing else. The old seaman was correct with his estimation, as truly the could see the the shores of Albar glaring in the horizon as soon as the sun crept on the sky in the morning of the fourth day. As the carrack slowly glade to the harbor, the captain told him that the river was too shallow for his ship, and that it would take them half-a day upstream to reach the city proper.
After compensating the captain for his troubles, the couple disembarked the carrack. It did not take long for them to find a man with a small sloop who was easily persuaded by the sight of silver to transport them into the city itself. Edward and Ashayen enjoyed the fine weather during their sail to the on the shallow river, leaving the manual labor for the peasant. She snuggled against his chest as he wrapped his arm around her, the thin lips curving to a loving smile. "I am so glad we are doing this finally, darling.." He said, while the boat glade gently but steadily upstream. She smiled to his words and leaned forwards, responding to his words with a soft kiss. The evening was already late when they finally came close enough to see the dim light which radiated from the torches along the town wall of Albar. Edward threw a few coins on the deck of the sloop, and after which the couple disembarked the boat and headed towards the town gate. The grim-looking guards stationed around the gate structure made no attempt to prevent such a handsome couple from entering the town, and the few peasants and burghers still on the streets hurried out from their path as the two made their way deeper into the town, trying to look for an inn. They couldn't but to smirk at the servile attitude of the Albarians they ran across, all bowed their heads and let them pass without trying to block the path Clearly, the lower segments of the population were kept well in check by the nobles, only if the bane was alike. With a wave of his hand Edward stopped a man, asking for where they could find an upper-class inn for the night. The short man man who was dressed in plain clothes pointed his hand further along the street, telling them to look for a large stone house "which they could not miss."
With the directions given to them by they burgher, the two were able to find their way to a fine inn. The outer walls of the house were made out of large stone-blocks, several large glass windows facing the street. It seemed as if the entire floor of the inn was covered with a thick carpet, and apple board walls were lavishly decorated with paintings and statues in each room. It was much finer the Seahorse had ever been, Edward grinned. The innkeeper, a fat and old man, was amazed as they requested him to arrange a temple and a priest for them. His brows arched even more as Edward stated, that they wished to have them by tomorrow. The innkeeper protested "Here in Albar we respect traditions greatly, such a thing is an impossibility..", but his protests were cut short by a fistful of silver which was thrown on the floor. "Please, Arrange it. You will have our gratitude.." They grinned as he bowed down to pick up the coins and promised them that "Everything would be in place, tomorrow.. Jeran, show the his Lordship and ladyship their rooms, quickly now!" The small boy with yellow hair, who the innkeeper had called Jeran quickly hobbled to the two, leading them up the stairs and through the hallways, opening a finely engraved door for them. "This way, your.. highnesses", the boy winced and bowed his head as she gave him a silver coin. "You are much too nice, darling" He grinned to her. "Mhm, I know.", She smirked back to him as they both glanced to the large double bed at the centre of the room.
The sun was already sinking behind the roof of the chapel, dyeing the sky and clouds bright red. The little chapel, apparently dedicated to Tanora they were lead to was made out of limestone, with a layer of white marble to give the building a finer polish. Two large brass-decorated conifer doors lead on the marble covered lane which lead to the altar, while a dozen of thick, round naldorwood pillars, six on both sides of the chapel, supported the tile roof of the building. On both sides of the marble lane there was small assortment of chairs for the guest, whom of they would have none at all. It was not what he had hoped, but.. she was there, and by the gods, she looked beautiful. They had gone to see a tailor before the morning, and he was again several silvers poorer. He stretched his shoulders underneath his excellent new black coat he had ordered just for this occasion several hours earlier. The priest was not there yet, but she was the calmness herself, while he could not but to shuffle his feet on the cobblestones somewhat nervously. The priest brushed over the front of his robe as he finally made his way towards them from behind the altar, with a broad smile on his oiled face. Apparently had been let known that the husband-to-be was generous, and would surely not leave the coffers of Tanora be denied a display that generosity. "Please, come in.. Mister Cromwell and Lady Ashayen? This is highly unusual as you both probably understand.. we do not usually.." Edward rose his hand in a pacifying manner. "We are unusual people, thus this will not be a problem.. " He glanced at Ashayen and the two grinned at the priest, who returned them a somewhat nervous smile. "Alright.. Then let us begin the ceremony.."
The three made their way along the lane to the altar. The priest walked calmly behind the altar, facing the two as he cleared his throat. "We have all gathered here to celebrate the Wedding of Ashayen and Edward Cromwell" Edward's fingers played nervously with the ring, an unusually fine one with a large diamond on it, as the priest turned to him. "Do you have with you something for her, to prove your affection and love to her in the eyes of Tanora?" Edward brought the hand forward and nodded. The priest smiled, continuing "Then repeat after me: "This ring I give as a token of my affection and love. Will you wear it as a symbol of your own affection and love toward me?" He swallowed as he turned to her, staring into her eyes as he begun to repeat the words. "This ring I give as a token of my affection and love. Will you wear it as a symbol of your own affection and love toward me?" She let out a quiet gasp and smiled lovingly, saying quietly: "I will, my heart." The ring felt strangely slippery and his hand was shaking as he very carefully and slow placed the ring on her ring finger. The priest turned his eyes on Ashayen. "Do you have with you something for him, to prove your affection and love to him in the eyes of Tanora?" She nibbled on her lips, nervously, as she nodded to his words, bringing an identical ring forward. The priest continued then: “Repeat after me: "This ring I give as a token of my affection and love. Will you wear it as a symbol of your own affection and love toward me?" She turned him with her blue-green eyes gleaming with happiness. "This ring I give as a token of my affection and love. Will you wear it as a symbol of your own affection and love toward me?" Edward smiled, nodding the head. "Forever, love" He could feel how she reached for his hand, and how the ring slowly glade on to his ring-finger. The feeling was something he had never expected to experience.. but he had to admit, that it made him feel very good. The priest brushed over the front of his robe, somewhat nervously. He cleared his throat and continued:
"And do you, Edward Cromwell, take this Ashayen as your lawfully wedded wife?"
He stared into her eyes, with the green eyes sparkling. "I do"
The priest smiles in satisfied manner, and Edward could feel how she squeezed his hand a little.
"Do you, Ashayen, wish to take this Edward Cromwell as you lawfully wedded husband?"
Her blue-grey eyes sparkled as she whispered softly. "I do"
The priest looked at the two for a moment, smiling warmly before he proclaimed: "In the name of Tanora, I pronounce you as husband and wife. May you love and cherish each other, rich or poor, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, till death do you apart. May Tanora turn Her face towards you and smile to you, may She give you Her wisdom and eternal blessing"
He turned the eyes towards Edward, adding a little less pompously: "You may now kiss the bride".
He let out a relieved sigh, squeezing her delicate fingers gently with his hand as he leaned forward, pressing the lips against her lips as they kissed each other with love for a long moment.
"Ashayen Cromwell" they both whispered almost at the same time as they slowly walked past the chapel doors, laughing gently at their similar reaction. The sun had disappeared a long time ago, and the stars and the moon were shining their pale light up in the dark sky. They could hear the priest wish them all the best but neither turned their heads to respond in any way, and kept just staring at each other. They stared at each other and smiled softly.. The couple wandered along the quiet streets, enjoying the sound of their quiet steps and the darkness of the night. She placed her hand on his waist as they reached a small clearing between two houses, with a wonderful view up to the sky, making him stop. They both looked up and sighed somehow.. relieved. They were a husband and wife now. She tilted her head, pressing the lips gently against his lips as her arms glade around his broad shoulders. He returned her kiss, gently.. his hands moving to her waist, as they begun to gently move their bodies from side to side, as if from a speechless agreement of some sort. They danced under the stars and the moon, dancing the night away. Together.
