I know for sure that if i was a slow fat bastard i will not bother taking up a career in assasinations. Cuthalion is more right.

I agree with Cuthalion. Constitution would do mmy char well, but I want to more "typical" asassin. He strikes quick, and escapes from a dying foe.

He's not saying be a slow fat bastard, he's saying be an above average athlete who's parents were married when they had sex ;) .

And I know for sure that even if I had the build for the perfect assassin, because of my upbringing I wouldn't take up a career in assassinations.

I'm not sure if agility actually makes that much difference in terms of running speeds.

Does.

Ok, well maybe it is just me then, but my fairy, 22 agility, is outrun by everything and anything. And maybe you should think of not making an assasin, I don't know how much employment there would be...... ....ok, plenty of jobs, but maybe not for an unskilled fighter
Oh no, I was wrong :(, she only has 10 agility

Then maybe you are carrying too heavy. Evi outruns everything with her 18 agility.

Blame your ISP (or encumbrance).

Remember this people, on pavement no matter how encumbered your char is or low in agility they will always run around the same speed. Its on other tiles where the effects kick in noticably.

And yes Skaalib your connection is pants.

Indeed.

And indeed again.

What else is agility for? Please propose some skill "packs"

Agility:

Movement speed on other tiles.
It effects alot of the fighting system, almost all aspects, Parry, how fast you use your weapon, damage dealt, dodge, etc.

Ok, sounds like an important skill for an asassin. What else? How much of it? And how much constitution and dexterity, about...

You seriously overestimate how important skills are. Just put any old crap in for now and when you've learnt how to play the frickin' game then start worrying about attributes and crap :P

You honestly don't need good attributes, I was fine on 10 10 10 10 10 12 12 for ages until I started learning magic and needed new ones.

lots of agility, it will aid you in whatever you do, 17 or 18?

assasins are defensive, not neccisarily damage loving, if your assasin learns to parry it will not matter so much, especially if he attacks from a distance, i say about 15 constitution. Dexterity is your accuracy (though perception is far more effective on accuracy i find)

And on what Alex said, its true, attruibutes have little effect where as the actual skills obtained do the work alot more.

@Wil:But it is nice for rp'ing to have nice atributes=) Gives you the right feeling. I do know the basics of the game. I have been playing for a couple of weeks.
@Retlak: I dont want him to be using ranged weapons. I want him to be hardhitting, so that he can strike swiftly, and then run.

IN THAT CASE!

18 agility (speedy bastard)
16 const (would not want to get hit while running)
essence!? useless
Dexterity!? 8
12 Perception (so you can see where your going, not too greater than average since you run so fast you wont see!)
Intelligence, well your a clever little dicky, lets try 9
strength, hard hitting so.. 17/18
willpower!? useless

Do I have that many points...?

And I want to use poisoned dagger, so shouldnt I have high dexterity instead of strengh? Thanks for all help Retlak.

Try it, you should..

Erm, daggers... hmmm.. as i said, dex has not too greater effect as perception with accuracy. its fine.

Maybe I should use a poisoned Serinjah sword instead..

AlexRose wrote:My uber mage stats are:

Agl 9 (So I don't walk too slow)
Con 3 (I don't intend to be hit by a blade. Quick on that pushing spell ;) )
Dex 10 (For lute)
Ess 18 (So I don't get pwned by magic)
Int 18 (So I can cast complex spells)
Per 3 (I don't wanna be a druid frankly)
Str 4 (I don't care about fighting)
Will 19 (So I have plenty of mana)
This is from a PM. I'm not sure I got the uses of intelligence, essence and willpower right, but they're on maximum anyways so I don't mind ;)

See originally they were 10 10 10 10 10 10 12 12 (that was for a year and a bit) and it was fine. Then I joined the academy so I changed 'em.

Go away Alex your confusing him!

Once you choose your attribs you canot change them a later date, what alex means is he remade his char. losing all skills items etc.

by Shadow Dancer
Oh, that sounds bad... What about the dexterity thing?

Posted: Tue Nov 28, 2006 10:03 pm

to be honest dexterity has as much use as Alex Rose.

its great in crafting etc, but in fighting, has very little effect on only accuracy, you wont even notice a difference.

Ok Retlak, thanks a lot. Nice to finally get some real facts.=D I will make that char as you proposed. What weapen sets do you think will go good with him? Snake sword, and poisoned Serinjah sword?

I don't have a clue, all my chars end up chosing the paladin set, its so much better than everything lol.

No I didn't lose any of my skills or items, I asked Nitram to change them.

Yeah but it is not something that is always acceptable, i may have done it 50 times with Retlak but thats because he is a n00b. And you obviously kept yours balanced for future improvements :P if a full fledged warrior attribute set asks to change due to not no intelligence, i doubt its acceptable.
