Uh, excellent idea but I think gun is way too advanced for the game time. But let me tell you something I learned in history class. In medieval times, some people shot arrows with fire at the end of the tip. Maybe if they invent a lighter and you shot arrows that did more damage that would probably be interesting. And the fire could be created from flammable chemical made by chemist. You know like a lighter.

it says gun powder, not guns, and gun powder was around far before the middle ages

Well the idea for it to be used as a weapon was not invented until much later

I still think gunpowder is a little advanced, but its a nice idea. And only China had gunpowder that early. The gunpowder of illa, is magic.

Alchemists thought black powder was magic, they did not understand it, so why should we, we could learn to make it, but have a high chance of failure and it blowing up in your face or failing to ignite at lower levels - preventing wide-spread usage.
Also another rubbish idea i had - an elixir of smoke, automatically creates a thick inpenatrable fog around a person.

Actually what about mercury - we could all use it as a permenant alternative to sibanac
