There is a small chance that you get sick from things that are not cooked.
So don't eat every wild fruit where animals, etc. have tasted from.

So cooked hams should be fine, right? What about stockpiled food; will it go bad in the depot?

Even cooked hams have this effect. Its difficult in this point, because its pretty easy to get them free.
There would be 3 ways.
1. poisoned
2. much lesser food value
3. cooking skill needed
Nalzaxx wrote:Do skeletons still have to eat? Or are they exempt from the having to eat part?
Undeads don't have to eat.
So the famishment of Undeads doesn't work that good
Well...what i wanted to say:
Some more update.
The unsound food is more seldom now.
A small update with the fishing
Lizards are able to fish without a fighting rod. Just use a water tile.
Nitram.

				Quest announcement thing: Awesome
Hunger: A good example of the unfortunate trend of making things that appeal to the hardcore sector, leaving everyone else to wonder what the point of it is.

The point, Fooser, is to give the cooks a sense.

What about magic food, can mages still make cakes and stuff like this? If so cook are still useless, needs to be looked at.

Cooks aren't the only thing without a sense though, does that mean more mandatory systems will be put in place for everything that doesn't?

I think the exact opposite of Fooser, as it seems.
The need for food is something I wanted since a long time.
However I can almost see the horrible quest entries on our homepage made by ... "new players".

they are no real problem Keikan.
Everyone who has a gm character, can login into the account system and edit every quest that is in there.
Mages still can make food. So you can buy from mages or from cooks.
Lets see how the things develop.

ok, lemme see if I understand this....
Any 'free' food stockpiled in depots could possibly be poisoned too, right?
I guess I'll just have to get rid of those 2000 smoked Hams Dusty has.....
~Blue Light Special on Hams!!!!~
It's ok though, cause at least he can cook.
Just wanted to make sure.
This change will help the farmers too!

Just a question, but is HP Regen. based on your Consitiution, or your hunger meter? Because I found it much easier to just eat something and then get your HP regenerated.
For most people, HP could be regened with just 2-3 meats.

You dont say why though? Unless I'm failing to see something, it doesn't really help attract or keep new players, it doesn't really add any fun factor anywhere. Sure, it will help cooking a bit with player trades, but..
