I will simply state facts and not insult you personally in anyway whatsoever, it will solely be about the quests and special treatment you recieve ingame from various older playing gms, (who in their own right can be guilty often times of ignoring pleas of new players ingame because "they don't want to be bothered when they are playing", but I will push forward that issue at a later date.)
18, (is the number i hear on the street, crunching numbers in my head, its sounds about right), quests revolving around your various characters. (I will use your character names since you did in the beginning, not sure why it would hurt.) Various Caitlin quests, various Gwynether quests, all because you push for them repeatedly. The Meriel quest being kidnapped by the Drow, (which I was VERY stupid to believe the gms were forcing your hand), was encouraged by you and now the Blaithin/Caitlin quest.
In the rule book it says your character can come back from being dead only once. Doing it anymore would just show being dead is just a joke and really meaningless in illarion. And so I would say the fact Caitlin has been brought back three times and all the while still getting quests with her as a key part of it, this latest one your doing of course concretes that belief.
No one here has written that Jen nor Partic cannot roleplay properly. No one I think can say Patric's Ghorn or Samantha are badly roleplayed AT ALL they are superbly played as are all of Jen's characters. They are great and experienced roleplayers.
However, because Jen is a good roleplayer does not discount the valid issues brought up. And they are valid. Jen does recieve special treatment ooc forcing us to have to roleplay or aid her characters if we want to move further and finish said quests. (Gwendolin and Dragon was the worst simply because it was not a quest, it became Gwendolin and Dragon playing together while we just sat and said "err.. well.. we know the dragon won't eat her.. but IC we can say if it does we will attack it!" .)
In the end, such special treatment, glorifying any character played by anyone will cause jealousy and scorn. It is unnessasary for various players to repeatedly have their characters who are hot at the time get events just for them so they can promote their character further.
Lets see a few more quests like The Lich War, like Aldrons Goblet, like Nightmare. No one character is given any more attention then anyone else unless it is the characters determining that.
ps- Darlok tho had his own quest and backing of gms, and I do not think anyone can really complain about the way it was. Perhaps it depends on how it is played.

Erik and Sam worded that so perfectly. Nothing here is intended to flame or make anyone feel bad so if you take it offensively instead of constructively then you don't have a place here as a mature adult (which is what we're all trying to be, I hope).
Good cheer everyone, and lets do try and make this a happier forum, shall we?

I am going to follow Misj here and not let him burn up into pieces for not letting Jen, as politely as I can put it, play the sympathy card.
I've thought that someone would bring that up. And I seriously ask myself if I can do anything right? If you are upset and you show it, you get flamed. If you are seriously trying to figure out what you have done wrong, so you understand each other, you get told that you play the sympathy card.
Maybe just a single time people could stop judging and see things like they really are?
I'm not trying to say 'Hell people are speaking bad about me, please give me praises'.
I'm saying 'Okay, something did went wrong here and I want to clarify it and see how things can change'.
I think that's understandable?
And I've thought alot about this matters with quests, etc. And I've pulled consequences from it. If I annoyed players by playing a game, I will just play more quietly from now
It's okay, I can see peoples point, I've also talked with Erik on msn and I'm glad he did.

You are very right Jen. You clarified it and things must change. As you can see in my post, (kind of disapointed you did not agree or disagree with the 'meat' of my post), I do not at all think your a bad person or bad roleplayer. You are a great person and a great roleplayer. But things do indeed need to change.

I know that you don't think I'm a bad person or a bad roleplayer (or else you wouldn't play with me

)
Gwendolin and Dragon was the worst simply because it was not a quest, it became Gwendolin and Dragon playing together while we just sat and said "err.. well.. we know the dragon won't eat her.. but IC we can say if it does we will attack it!"
For defensing the one who made the quest:
No one knew that I was PO Gwendolin. (Or else I would have probably been sent to hell

)
And without elaborating on everything you sad: Yes I agree with the meat of your post.
Furthermore, I think I've proven that I'm not a playing sympathy card here. Would you please take that argument back? For I think it was unfair towards me.

*
I would like to know, if it is wished that I don't play the Char Blaithin Ravenhart anymore. (This question is only adressed to those who have played with the char and who have met her.)
Through her role and her char concept she easily gets the center of happenings. If someone does not agree with this char, then please tell me, so I can say Farewell today/tomorrow with her.
I also want to mention, that the char due to the concept only would have stayed a certain time anyway. Those who played with me, know it.

No...please stay with Blaithin. The roleplay with her is wonderful. Also her purpose is needed. Damien would come now with his "balance" stuff

.
Please keep her =)

Caitlin Ravenhart is a wonderful character, which I've had a lot of nice roleplay with. And most of it had nothing to do with her char concept.
Keep her.

Caitlin was indeed well played. But she died like... I dunno how many times.
And? What has that to do with it? She does great roleplay with the char and brings wonderful roleplay moments to us other players.
you want to delet a great char who makes wonderful roleplay and involves many other players in it because she came back a second time with a very good rp explanation and a quest and a goal and a limited time ingame?
You haven't moaned when Misjibar got revived the second or third time. With less rp reasons and maingoal or limited time. So why now?
Posted: Tue Jul 04, 2006 4:49 pm
by Misjbar
Maingoal? And he was revived two times thank you. And you should shut up about "less rp reasons", because frankly, you never had a clue what my chars were all about.

I havent attacked you at all, Erik. There is no reason to react so. I meant less rp reason to come back than Blaithin. With less roleplay around it, and not that main purpose like by her. And also not for a limited time. That should not mean that the roleplay around misjibars ressurection was bad, pal. Never I wanted to say with that that it was not good, or wrong.
So please don't feel attacked, because i havent did so.

The point is, you do not know a thing about the RP that preceded his resurrection. I haven't seen ANY RP concerning Blaithin's return, so does this mean there hasn't been a lot of RP surrounding it? No.
Do not assume things you cannot possibly know.

Ghorn wrote:I havent attacked you at all, Erik. There is no reason to react so. .
I think this is the reason why there is so much shock. You compared the Misj's RP to Gwynn's (and even though you said it wasn't BAD rp, you said it would warrent more complaints than hers). Now, I don't mean to start a flame war, but I had to bring this point up to express myself. If you cannot see how that wouldn't offend someone, then there is where the surprise comes from. Now, you should be able to speak as such, I think. Though, in efforts in attempt to defend Jen, it might have hurt another (even if it was accidental).
Even in this post, I can find that grudge would be formed towards Jen. Infact, it may even support some of the claims the players made, and how ever infantile the grudge is, reacting to it would only increase the situation. This is just an observation, and I do not agree with certain grudges much, but you cannot say they are unfounded.

Jen, I don't find you elitist or that you scare players away.
You're just a drama queen.
Patric, you are offensive. You offend people constantly. You wonder why you are disliked, yet constantly aggravate people. Shut. Up.

That's why I'm good at rp. I love dramas. ^^
Anyway, would you say Gwion, that I did this thread for purposes of making a drama? If you say no, I guess I have finally managed it to make a point the way I really intend to.

The difference, Patric, is that I am fully aware of this, and don't wonder why people think I seem offensive towards them.
Jen? No. You made this topic because people were talking behind your back. Never a nice thing.

But you see how it can be taken another way, and probably still will even though you've explained yourself. Even within that statement, people can get angry (justified, but still childish.)

Mairead wrote:I would like to know, if it is wished that I don't play the Char Blaithin Ravenhart anymore.
No, no, and no again. If you do that, i'll make Gryphi pile a load of wood on the market place, and burn himself. And would
not revive him for sure.

The style was pretty obvious.
Edit: No, Liles. Not perfect. Nobody is perfect, since the excellence of RP is VERY subjective.
