by the way, this game is not about "keeping your armor" and "being able to kill others"
Putting down other players is also not the point of the game.

sure. i dont do that in the game

When he was chased of the castle he didnt even push anyone, and that was an example, if we cant catch someone in castle how can we outside?its just impossible.

and how many #mes like "#me tries to grab him", "#me holds the blade against his throat" and "#me blocks his way" has he ignored?.

he did that at other times too. many peoples did that. such #mes shouldn't be ignored. #mes are important for a roleplaying game and should be respected, if they are not forcing or ridicilous.

I don't believe he was arguing whether the players roleplay was acceptable. Instead, he was showing how once outside it may be hard to catch up with smart monsters or players.

As i said, you can do it with rp. good rp.

that's true IF the person said #me is blocking the door. people I play with don't even take the time to do that, plus can still say #me being as small as a hobbit slips throught his legs. since no one can take up and entire doorway. but back to the point, even if he did rp getting out the chase would still go on and on forever. rping it would just make it so the warrior would get a few extra shots in.

OK i give another example for Galim since he dont seem to understand  .A guy steal an item from someone else trading and flee with 3 guards chasing him, they are going all with the same exact speed and never get closer of farther and if someone try to type than it slow him down so no one does.Theses sort of thing happens a lot usually and its always as easy to flee, push the key and change it a bit when they are rocks and trees, now did you understand what we mean Galim?

This is not exactly true. I've outran 4 guards, using just mountain area, shadowed areas, and plains. You just have to know how to move, and you can easily outrun people. Or sneak up on them, either way :)

Posted: Sun Jan 22, 2006 8:53 pm
by Arameh
OK,its EASY to flee and IMPOSSIBLE to chase, thats whats i meant.

shadowed areas as in behind a building? when I did that the orc killed me usuing th f12 thing and told me it was against the rulles in ooc

I also hid in a barrle from an orc many times. usualy they just walk up and attakc me using f12. the one rp time he said #me smells a hobbit and walks up and looks inside the barrel.

stop saying us criminals are bad rpers. we depend on rp mostly. you want criminals, but you also want to kill them as fast as possible.

Why do you think a cat meows and beckons for a new toy, or the chance to go out to hunt? They want something so badly that they want to make mincemeat out of it. Tis stupid, I know. But c'est la vie.

Also, why do you think I have never made a real villain of a character? ;) As soon as anything gets going with a villain, all the goodly heroes rise up to destroy whatever the hell it is that's trying to get going.

Agree, thats why there is 0 current criminal, and that get the game too calm.

the only criminals I really see are those millions of people who say #me has his hood pulled to cover his face,

that's it, ou can tell theyr want to be a villain, but no one has the guts do do any major crimes. cause we all suck and people like brian who have been training for years can cut us down in a blink of an eye

That is why it is best to run sometimes ;)

yes, so you run, getting nothing accomplished mind, you, now your only trying to live, not rob a rich dude, and the chase goes forever until on gives up or logs.

If robbery is the game, rp is the name.

Not all criminals are killers, and not all theives snatch things off the floor and run.

Posted: Sun Jan 22, 2006 11:57 pm
by Poots
thieves have to snatch something. say your a pickpocket, they player decides to give you a break and playes along. hooray, I got 5 coins, lets go celabrate with a beer!......no wait, I need 15 coins for a drink that doesn't do anything, only rp. lets go get another 10 coins robbing. oh wiat, the person magickly found my ahdn, he's killing me! Run! 1 hour later *pant* man, he seems to go exactly as fast as I do! should I log? wait, that's agaisnt the rules.. should I give up? then this entire mission was pointless

Inventive rp will put the player in a good mood. Plus, it isn't always about getting the loot.

If you're on a big never-ending chase, just do something else RP.
Example: Try to speak to him, tell him you'll give back what you stole if he stops (or give him what he wants), do an action like going up a tree (RP wise, he shouldn't be able to do much but well, he can still attack you), etc.

talking to him is giving up, loosing your item you stole, and being known as a thief.

as for inventive rp, I made my hobbit hide outdie the shop in tb in the barrel by the well, I would place a coin right next to it. when someone picked it up, I would say #me cuts a hole in the mans pocket while he's bending over. I did this about 5 times, every time the person just takes the coins and walks away or say, "hello, who are you?".either I found 5 noobs in a row, or theres bad rp.

Posted: Mon Jan 23, 2006 12:22 am
by Galim
either noobs or players who ignored the forced rp.
#me cuts a hole in the mans pocket while he's bending over.
Thats forced. next time try "#me tries to cut a hile..."

We cant rely all the chases and thievery and all to RP,because too many peoples are bad RPer,we need things made on the game.

by Poots
forget the freaking forced rp, they didn't think "hey, he didnt say tried, I'm goingnto take his money and just leave"

and if you get caught, you lose, fight an die, or run away, forced to give up, lose the item/s, and probal killed anyways

That would be good if me and poots agreed that much ig too :P
