"Hmph," he grunts, before dodging her gaze returned and mustering the new entree on the off-side; only just then having realized someone else had joined the tavern's company. Though finding no interest in the figure, he turns his head back to face the small coven, directing his gaze at the wooden surface of the table and awaiting impatiently.

She looks back, her face softening as she does, smiling back to the other man.
“Tell me, what was it that caught you interest in the note? And maybe, I could fill you in on some of the information.” She leaned back in her chair, bringing the pipe methodically back to her lips and in taking the sweet smoke once more as she waited for the man to answer.

The doors of the tavern prop open, as a man in his late twenties enters the warm room. He looks tall and slim, less like a warrior, but more like a runner, not at all broad-shouldered, with a matchstick of a neck, a scar on his right cheek, going down over to his lip, and pale gray eyes. He has naturally raven black hair, but now dyed sunlight-blonde, and only black at the roots. He wears a rather cheap set of ranger clothes, and carries a bandoleer over his torso, with a travel bag on his shoulder, filled with bladed weapons of various kinds. He immediately recognizes a "buddy" of his.
"Aaaaah! What a great day for a coincidence! Bartender! Drinks for me and my friend Al!!!"
He puts a hand over the large human's shoulder, giving him a friendly hug with a broad smile.
"Long time no see?!"

“Hmm…” She took in a slow deep breath once she had exhaled the smoke. “An interesting way to come forth in something that he does not know.” She smiles. “I am intrigued.”
She looked back to the other lad for a moment, then to the other who sat across the room before she let her gaze cast itself over the man with the note once more. “Tell me a bit about yourself.” She smiled invitingly for him to answer, then looked up at the other man who had entered with no emotion once again in her face.

"Not much to say. I came here our of boredom. My home was largely agricultural and I did not care for farming. I love knowledge and the only thing I could learn there is how to get the biggest cabbage. Needless to say, it was not what I was looking for. I did not want to spend the last half of my life living there so I decided to set out for a new town. I suppose fate threw me here."

She takes in the information slowly before she again turns to the man who had so rudely intruded, then to the lad who had been gazing at the table. Her expression holds a soft smile and she, while still holding the pipe, elegantly clasps her hands on the table, looking up at him waiting for him to comment, or speak again.
Then back to the lad for an explanation, noticing that the intruder seemed to be acquainted to him, though her gaze didn’t last long and she looked up to the blond man once more, her air still sweet.

"Oi Ken, if you excuse me a moment I'm supposed to talk business here," he said, nodding briefly to the man in greeting, with a disgruntled air about him, and then staring back up at the lady, something in his eyes flashing quickly and showing impatient expectation—of her to finally getting to the point.

The woman looks back to him with a chuckle, amused by his reaction. “So he has some spark.” She looked him over, her face sweet and smooth, but her eyes again holding their poisoned glint. “Tell me, what are your skills?” For a moment she looked back to the lad. “You will be next to answer this question, boy.”
She slowly looked back to Aokan, her eyes gazing into his, seeming to pierce dangerously into his.

“Knowledge is a gift, and to be used wisely. I shall talk to you in more detail in time. But now,” She looked back to Alavan, a smile upon her lips, but her eyes still as piercing, just as dangerous as before and she spoke.
“And your skills, boy?” She let her eyes drift upon his, almost welcomingly, but coming in contact with their gaze could fair deadly, as if trapping you into the look.

Alavan feigned coolness, as he quirked a scar-split eyebrow as if in disbelief over the question. "I know the island well despite my short time here, and I'm good at anything that needs not a word nor a thought; hence I am good at directing sharp objects into their marks. Consider me being skilled as a bloodhound of sorts."

She smirked inaudibly to herself muttering: “An attitude adjustment isn’t hard to accomplish either…” Before she smiled warmly with a nod to him, then looked back to Aokan.
“For you, my friend.” Her smile became roguish as she looked him over. “Your attitude pleases me, and your ‘knowledgeable’ persona will come into use. How are you for investigation? Good at seeking and gathering information about a large area?”
Her expression became serious again, as she held her pipe, still crossed between her folded hands.

Alavan snorts with a devilish grin, snags the canteen from the table and chugs down the rest of its contents and wipes over his mouth with the back of his bandaged hand, as if trying to rid himself of that scent. He slams the canteen back down onto the table and stands abruptly up, his chair skiddering back with a disruptive sound. He nods to the three people immediately around him.
"When it's time to speak in detail, find me at the Seahorse tomorrow morning," he speaks. "I should take my leave for now, pardon the swiftness but I've had a very long day. Farewell."
Quickly, he heads for the exit, with his heavy weight causing each step to thump loudly in his departure.

She laughs slowly under her breath as she turns her head back to Aokan once more.
“You will know in due time of the meaning.” Her voice softly rang out. ”As for a ‘meeting’..” She turns to face the man as he leaves, her voice controlling again. “Boy; I am not finished with you. And it will be you who meets with I, not the other way.”
Her eyes gaze coldly to his back.

He paused in his daunting stride and spoke without turning around.
"No woman, in comparison to you I was not sitting in a cozy tavern all day, smoking some herbs in my pipe. I was out parrying blows from bandit blades for the food I will dine on tonight. Once this has gotten into your head, you will now tell me where I meet you, when I meet you; and I shall be gone. Speak quickly, or find another bladesman who will work for any less pay than I."
Something like revolving anger was swinging along with his voice in every uttered syllable. He definitely seemed confident enough to be leaving any minute, regardless of her following response.

Her smile widened. “I assume I could find myself a better blades man, you look as if you are no more than a child with a pointy stick. Please, what good are you to me?” She leaned back in the chair, folding her arms lightly across her chest still holding her gaze to his back, as if drilling into the back of his head.
“Besides, it’s always the coward who walks away.”

Alavan snorted again. Still, he refrained from turning to look at her. He just stared out the doorway and admired the sky.
"Suit yourself," he barks with another devilish grin and walks out further towards the exit, leaning the scimitar onto his shoulder again. "I follow the chins—the rolling heads and the rolling coins—not some righteous nonsense about some stupid codes like 'honor'." It sounded like he spat the last word. "If you want someone who strikes into your foes without question and kills, you state your business now. If you want the company and drivel of one of those blade-fumbling manwhores, good night, good bye, and good riddance," was the last thing he growled. Yet he still stood by the arch, apparently awaiting one last reply. His stance was militant, prepared to march straight out.

She lets her smile widen. “I like you, you know. You have a powerful arrogant spark to yourself. I will meet with you in private when you feel fit. Leave if you wish. But if you do, know that we will speak again. Whether you like it or not.” She looks to the other man as she starts to stand. “I shall send you a dove when we shall meet for more information on this.” She smiles sweetly then nods to him, her eyes briefly eying the figure in the back, then turns walking casually past Alavan, letting one of her fingers brush over his arm as she passes, then vanishes out into the streets, not to be seen again.

Finally cannot take it anymore without asking anything, and jumps up from the table like a snake, without finishing his glass of liquor, nearly weaves himself all over Alavan, patting him on the shoulder, shaking his hand, hitting him in the back, like a little brother, asking to tell a special secret or show a new toy.
-Al, what the hell is this about?
Bows to the redhead politely, trying to speak to both at the same time, with a rattish grin to both.
