The longer I read this the more I come to the conclusion that I should take the server offline for a month or two until everything is fixed.

taking the server down for two months would just cause more of a problem to the role play than just letting it freeze every so often. I can live with a few freezes

Like right now?
Instead of taking it down for 2 months, you could have an American technical staff work on it at 11 PM eastern time when there are 4 people on. It may make those 4 people very unhappy, but it would get work done. But at least that way it would make as few people unhappy as possible and still keep the server up during the worst times.

I don't know any one. But I mean get some people from America or Canada who can code and fix these problems. I know it is 4 am, so there wouldn't be any point in anyone over in Europe getting up just to work on the system. I am sure you can find someone in this area who can code and is willing to help.

And there is no reason why the server should be taken down at all because the programming work is done with the server running. It just needs to be taken down for a restart when it's ready. What Vilarion meant is to take it down because it's buggy as hell

We should all contribute to a secondary back up server That takes the whole work load when server one shuts down. As helping take the strain off server one :S

The reason why the server freezes is not lack of resources, it is a bug in the server programming.
