Recycling was subject to many discussions in the past. I think I can say that it is consensus that it is not promising for the overall game balance. Examples are that crafters could recycle their stuff over and over again just to gain skill, the demand for raw materials would drop what hits newbies most and smithing would become different from other crafts for recycling mace handles won't be very intuitive. Also, one would be able to recycle things that are almost useless and turn them into perfect items what would disturb the value chain alot. On the other hand, I cannot remember a single good argument in favour of recycling.

By the way, some changes on monster drops are currently being tested, so exspect an update of the mess sooner or later ;-)

Yaaay! A plea to change ghost skeletons? They are twice as tough as your average demon skelly, and drop less than half the copper.

Changelog wrote:Ghost skeletons: Unnerfed drops. Lowered quality level from 4 to 3. Adjusted dropped copper. Replaced rings with weapons.
And yes, there will be a small chance to get one of their fancy swords.

*resurrects*

Not sure if anything was done, but golems really need to be fixed in my opinion. It takes a lot of power (and damaged items) to take out one of them, and all you get is around 10 copper (O_O) and a raw gem, nothing that makes it worth it.

Something along the lines of silver (good old days?) would be more appropriate.

Apparently something is being done. Estralis mentioned a new drop system that(I believe) was in use on the Test Client. I don't think we should expect it soon. It's one of those things that have been talked about coming for a long time but have not been seen. No offense to our developers, but it has been a rather lengthy time to wait for something players have been questioning about for a while.

The system stays the same, the balance was adjusted. The scripts are active on the testserver for quite some time now and all (known) bugs are fixed. I have no clue why the scripts are not put on the gameserver.

And no, gnolls won't drop silver coins ;-).

The scripts are currently optimized. As soon as this is done, I will put the scripts online. I guess I'm able to finish that today
