I would call them unlucky and still their deaths understandable. Of course, he would probably make some motion to surrender or somesuch, which I think the goodies would probably accept.U/\/known wrote:What if someone is forced to wear the "Baby-eating heart cult" gear.
Would you call them evil?
EDIT:
And as for your actual question, I didn't even imply in the original post that wearing the gear would be evil, just that it would be seriously asking for trouble. Which it is.
My character is as much a member of Troll's Bane as your's Patric. You also do not realize Troll's Bane is where most people go, where you buy/sell items you need, and what the smile is this with calling us evil? Why is Samantha the only one that does this? Do you think no one else has commen sense, or is your sense just superior to everyone else's? No one else attacks people the suspect to be in a evil group on site. Is it in character for you to just cloud all people that you think might be evil?Just that it is OUR town. you dont belong to it. it would be the same if you would watch good guys comming to the temple town, walking around, and not being harmed by you evil guys.
would you do that? i think no, right?
but you await that from us oin our town
it is NOT the same when you come int our town as the evil and dont harm us when you find us there, in OUR town
There is a couple of matters you should all think about.
Trolls bane is the center of roleplay, It could have been made an evil, good or neutral town. it justs so happens to be a neutral/good town. So when a temple member or a folower of moshran wonders in on his own not doing anything, what is the problem?
If these people are being hunted individually then obviously they would not go near town anyway. But when someone like Dain enters the town going to see some old friends or something and suddenly gets threatened and blasted about by samantha because he is not doing what SHE thinks is right, completely destroying the roleplay for the other player who is helpless, then there is something wrong.

You mean like telling her she should be careful whom she makes her enemy if the life of her friends mean something to her? that was at this moment a clear threat to her in samanthas eyes. But when someone like Dain enters the town going to see some old friends or something and suddenly gets threatened and blasted about by samantha because he is not doing what SHE thinks is right
Ok, i did not know this. My bad. But i use something like this as an example anyway.
All i am saying is, if people (who are not massively hunted) enter town to do something normal, then let them. Roleplay needs to happen in this game.
Certain chars, like Retlak get their roleplay from performing shitty mini quests over long periods of time. But player chars need to be apart of the community too, more than, hack and run. and get killed instantly on sight.

patrik, please dont explode now, but think about what i write.
something got hold in my head. its the idea, that you will never come to an understanding.
because - you all think, that samantha is a "good" char.
but if i reflect that, what i heard from samanthas own mouth ingame, and some other things, i learned on the forums, the disturbing thought forms itself, that samantha is played as an evil char herself.
(i have not got the slightest idea, if that is intentionally, or not)
see, she loathes to accept any kind of authority, than her own.
she gets unfriendly and threatening to any char, that does not accept her point of view as valid (remember tjalf? talking against magic in general?)
to me this "person" samantha seems powerhungry and arrogant.
two adjectives, i normally dont give to good "persons".
i hope, this will not be taken as flaming, but as base for serious reflections and thoughts.

Tjalf,
I have been suggesting that for a long time myself......
that Good and Evil are both just as bad. The only difference between them is who their friends are.
Personally, I see no difference between Samantha or the Temple members. They treat those of us in the middle just as disdainfully, they both are unreasonable and power-hungry.
I think that perhaps Good characters need to organize their own 'temple', organize staged conflicts with evil chars and leave the rest of us 'innocents' out of their 'forced' roleplay.
Just a thought.

samantha acts like an orc, if she feels insulted she kills you.
And she definately isnt a good character, though not evil, i would say she's bad. She wants to exert her power every chance she can, she kills people when they dont do what she says, she is a huge hypocrite, she is arrogant as smile. She breaks laws, does bad things, and then uses big words to make us think she's still ok (just like stephen!!).

hmmm...
if two of the older and better players think similar, my thought seems not so beside the track, that "they"
(i.e. the "good" and the "evil" chars playing POs) can not solve the differences they see, because they all want for themselves, what they will not grant the other group of their own kind.
then could one suppose, that "good" and "evil" are just abstract concepts, influenced by the point of view?

Samantha is not evil. Evil would look completly different. You guys simply haven't understood the DnD alignment stuff.
Samantha is good, but she is also harsh and mercyless against those who do evil. And she can be also mean and rough when being angered too much.
She is more likely Chaotic Good.
She wishes others to be safe, she wishes for peace, she wishes that there is no criminality, and also that others dont have to fear being wounded, robbed or whatever. to achief that she doesnt use just "please stop hitting that man with his own arm!", she also use her powers.
She is one of the good who has to walk in blood so that the others can stay clean and sober. she is one of the good who has to do the dirty job, without the good side wouldnt be able to succeed.

Your Character’s Alignment
Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Neutral Good.
Neutral Good
A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. The common phrase for neutral good is "true good." Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias toward or against order.

Your Character’s Alignment
Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Lawful Good.
Lawful Good
A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. She combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. She tells the truth, keeps her word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion.

I answered all the "friend and family" questions 100% accurately. For Orcs and temple members.
The law questions i answered things like "I will obey the law to how i see fit, but others i do not agree on".
And the other things i had 100% correct answers on...
...It kinda wrecked it abit, i was going to prove how liches are neutral..
