Well, I just finished reading this entire thread...and oh my god it was looonnnnnnnnggggggg.....but, yeah...I myself still ahve no diea or clue what went on during the drought or how it was solved....I asked around in game and pretty mcuh all I got was a couple of names and they said they helped...I know Darlok got a castle....but thats about it. Okay..so the magic system is changing...Ive already sat around trying all sorts of things...and Ive managed to cast two spells...both completely 100% weak, and one even backfired and hit me. I dont know what the hell I did, but oviously it was wrong. I have spent more and more time in the library, trying this.,...trying that...and Im about to bash my keyboard into a million pieces. Some changes need to be done in quest form ((i.e Darlok building a castle)) however, something that is going to affect everyone that is a technical change...should probably just be told staright out ((i.e Magic system changing, when fireswords couldnt be made anymore, when smithing started requiring more things, when carpentry needed more item than jsut wood, when the herblore changed)) When Im sitting around making a staff out of one log of wood, then magcally it takes me two, it makes no damn sense.

My character lost all his belongings to a server bug, and then a lot of his skills in the first wave (!) of Serpardums orc attack. Then skill gaining was made harder, and then you couldn't carry as much as you used to, and then also the monsters have become stronger. My char still doesn't have the skills back, because he can't carry enough potions and those damned skeletons kill him in a few hits. But I never complained about it because those changes actually aren't bad things, even though I have drawbacks.

That's pretty admirable Adano. It turns out there are still players who don't measure how serious their role is based on what monsters they can kill. I'm surprised.
It seems like the newbies I've seen lately measure their involvement by their combat skill.
But hey, I have no problem with 54*** players that can butcher the most experienced players. That's not how you earn your own IG kingdom, after all.

I agree Bloodhearte, but....I have 2 chars who don't fight at all. Never touched a weapon. And I try to RP and get involved, but it seems a lot of peopel don't take you seriously if you can't help out in fighting. Atleast in my experience that is how it goes, but I still RP peaceful chars because it is a relief froma violent one.

Due to my charm, all of my comments are nice and perfect. Well...actually, that's a lie.
But still, I can see what you mean Val. Kind of hard to have people take you seriously if you're supposed to be a mighty warrior or mage, but you can't technically back it up. When I done some stuff in the beginning of my characters life, he was often called a weakling and such. And I deserved it, because I didn't pay enough attention to the technical side of Illarion. It's about balance.
