It appears within something, yet it is nothing you can hold
It can hold nothing but things can go in it
It replaces things that have gone

@Lord Dark Sunrise

Correct.

Promises.

=)

Here's another.

Three Men are on a buisness trip. They stop at a hotel to get a room and the cost is Thirty dollars. So each man pays Ten dollars for the room.

The room was a managers special and was actually Twnety five dollars so the manager gives five dollars to the bell keep to give back to the men. The bell keep pockets Two dollars as a tip and gives each man One dollar back.

This means each man paid Nine dollars for the room.

9 x 3 = 27 + 2 = 29

So where is the missing dollar?

umm.... Well since it was they paid 30 and it was 25 30-25=5  the bellhop keeps 2 so 5-2=3 and each man got a dollar but each man was supposed to have a dollar but if they each got a dollar back it would be 25+2+3= 30 so your math is wrong or one of the men has the dollar that is missing, so it is in fact not missing.

it's a trick question, there is no missing dollar.
There is a error in your formula that people overlook ;)
(if that is what you ment by missing dollar)
9 X 3 = 27
27 + _3_ = 30
People made the mistake of thinking you would add the bellhops tip onto it,
but what is really missing is their three dollars... the bellhops tip is included
in what they payed, bringing it to 27.

They payed 30, bellhop got 5, took 2 as tip, and returned remaining 3.
3 X 10 = 30
30 - 5 = 25
5 - 2 = 3
3 - 3 = 0

Ah, I have one, what is:

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

Hopefully this one hasn't been asked before...

I am hiding in your heart never seen, never smelt, never herd, only felt;
I am felt, but you might not listen,
And if you do not bad things may happen;
I am given to men by god, put in man's his soul;
To see if he will listen.

can you tell me what i am?

Easy, your concious! And yes, Quain, it is a fish!
Quain is quite the problem-solver...

Here's another for you...

Found in rivers, shines like gold,
Only in the legends told...
Rub it thrice to find your throne.

#me nods. "An oil lamp it is"

Here's a little riddle that tests your traveling skills...

A mummy, no more than a day from the soil, rises from the earth.
It roams the land ever since it's day, or should I say it's birth.
It walks to the south of it's home, then continues to roam.
To the east, to the north, to the east. It falls by a Capsule.

Where is the mummy?

hehe you guys are good! :)

I'll post more soon.

Bright as day, dark as night
sinister in meaning
but when true hints delight
children do it with joy and mirth
in times done in loss
many can be addicted to it
Many do it to thier boss
