This may seem pointless, but maybe you should make it so you can buy instruments. Make some sort of interface to let the player make little tunes. This would be sort of a crowd pleaser.

It would also heighten the roleplay if people spent more than a second a way from the powergaming fun that is the mummy spawn, but then we can't have everything, can we Deies?

Yes Deies, now all you have to do is program it, bugtest it ,make it able to be put in the Illarion interface and help integrate it into the next build of the client!

There was once the proposal to implement dogs who could be trained to do little acrobatic tricks...
Illarion is neither a dog training simulation nor a synthesizer software.
It's a role playing game and as such you can't implement everything. A little bit of fantasy will always be needed, and I think it's not too much to imagine the songs someone plays.

I actually really like this idea. It could be like other skills whereas you relally suck in the beginning and can't play much then after you master it your music sound wonderful.
It would be great! Someone could sit in the town square playing music as people pass by and sometimes through them some coins or at some kind of gathering or feast musicians could play and the people could dance.
now everyone is going to hate me for this.

You dont need a skill for this, Kizad you can roleplay it...

I seem to remember a time when a certain lizard would go about his business, all the while humming delightfully, which really did improve people's mood n such. try it sometime.

But role playing it can only be so much fun for only so much time. If you could actually hear the music and work on it as a skill it brings it to the next level.

heh, picky things like this will be worked on when the accuall game is finished, although one sound per instrument would be nice.

a better idea would be that once they add all the vocations, the bards can make music.
