a different look

Post by Ezor Edwickton »

The old topic was locked an i believe there is more that needs to be discused about this. I think even if we don't see the different armor and cloth put on each person there should at least be a few different models for each race. Because when the larger mapp eventually comes it would be odd to have a whole town look exactly alike.

Want to know why it was locked? Because we have already discussed it, it is not possible right now, the GM's do not just randomly locked posts, they do it because there is a reason, the reason is,this is obvious, and do you think your the only person who has thought about it in 3 years.

Hmmm...but is does make me ponder something. Why was 2D chosen over 3D if you knew the graphics would be easier on 3D and you could make alot of variety?

Because it is more difficult to program a 3d engine then a 2d one?

Most likely so, and the client would probably become enormous.

Kizad, of course you topic was locked. Tis one will be, too. way too many people ask questions over and over. I suggest doin a search before you ask a question or propose something. And most importantly next time your topic gets locked, it was locked for a reason. Don't make a new thread because just because you think it should be discussed further.[/i]

here an idea (not entirely sure if this could work) er... just have colour changes.. alll this would take is coulourizing the 2-d models and including them as options. Btw the character models look great! :P they are much better than i thought they would be... good job, whoever made them (martin?) :D

Couldn't the characters be made in 3d while everything else remains 2d, kinda like The Sims.

Applying different textures to the current characters would be easy, the current characters are just renders.

But in the end you still need to render them again and put the new grafics into the client. Large download sizes and additional work just to make the client a little bit more colorful. That's why this has not been done yet and very probably won't be done ever.

The Sims is completely in 3d, cause it can rotate 90 degrees in all directions, plus you can zoom in and out. At least I think so. I have is on the PC you see, do you have it on the PC or Playstation?

Not entirely sure, but I always thought it was completely 3d, maybe I'm wrong tho :D
