Powergamers?
5 minutes ago I saw an orc and an elf training for a long period of time east of the town inside the big rectangular rock formation. Is this powergaming? Thought you might want to look into this.
Powergamers?
Acutally we werent training (if it was elf 10xxx and orc 23xxx) we were sparring with two shields. and it wasent for a long time.
Powergamers?

Dear Ryder,
Who in the glasshouse sits should not throw with stones.
Or what was at the cross ?

I don't understand how this would be powergaming. In fact many issues that have been subject to ridicule somehow seem counterdictory to me. Why is it that characters cannot "train" with one another or discuss "skills?" - save the "my parry is to the y." If the point of argument is that its does not fit into role playing then I need a new definition. The middle age, which seems to be the period set for this game, with filled with people that trained very hard to become the best. The ageless story of the shopkeepers son seeking to become the lands greatest warrior... isn't that what fantasy is about. Stepping out of your skin, unless you are someone who is already a spell casting mage!?! To survive these characters must have skill and to say that people are wrong by measuring it seem wrong in itself.
I ask this seriously, this is not ment to be a gripe. In real life contests are held, classifications are given and tools are used to measure the proficency of skills. In the game characters naturally try to measure skills and the simplest of these is to try them out on a partner. Many times I feel that characters extend themselves far outside the RPing frame to scold these "powergammers," yet their doing nothing but controlling the training environment. I'm all for perserving a RPing environment but consitancy of actions seems lax in most cases. If your going to tell someone in game to stay in character, then you yourself had to break from character.
