I propose that there should be penalties in parry/defense in meléefighting and distance fighting(defense), determined by which side of the attacked one is facing the attack.
Attack coming from front: 100% parry, no penalty.
Attack coming from side/sides: -25% parry
Attack coming from rear: -50% parry.
I'm absolutely not competent when it comes to computerprogramming, but logic tells me a change such as this would not require an extreme effort in time programming.
A fun bonus in melée combat would be that the players would try getting eachother in the rear, and not only sit and watch the 2 combatants and listening to hacking noise.
Also weaker new players would get a chance to murder more powerful characters....a chance...
