I have a quarrel.

Everything about Illarion that fits nowhere else. / Alles über Illarion was inhaltlich in kein anderes Board passt.

I have a quarrel.

Post by Grant Herion »

Hello all,

I have a problem with some of the people that don't yet have accounts ingame and yet they post on the RPG Boards as if they are there. The problem is, their character isn't in Trollsbane so they cannot know what is happening and cannot have access to the "Town Wall". Its pretty simple, but I think it is a fairly big problem.

Thanks

I have this problem too, and probably many others also.

But it´s not the first time that someone remarked it.

A idea to resolve that problem were in the past to combine the E-Mail Account with the Ingame boards, i don´t know if this is realy possible.

But something will happen soon or later, but i think we haven´t any other chance as to wait.

It bugs when when they jump on the newbies and proposals boards and spam the heck out of them with silly questions that they would know the answers to if they just sat in the game for a couple of minutes. They do need to be able to read the boards thugh, because I am sure a few new players (and probably very few) actually read before they try to post and these boards, if capable of being picked through, are better than any manual or history book of illarion.

I don't see the problem with asking questions on the newbies forum because after all, isn't that what its their for? But, I have to agree, that people who have not played the game should not be posting in the proposal boards.

My idea for people not in game yet:
1) can see all forums
2) can only write in Account and newby forum
3) Limited number of Posts per day
4) Treated stricter on spam than other members

This is the question. And in many cases, these people weren't seen later in the game or haven't shown enough roleplay.
Also there is than a lag of roleplay, cause you can't interact with them in the town itself.

Can't the Mods of the boards just lock the RPG forum except to people with characters that are ingame? Or is it a ton of work? Because if you did this, we wouldn't get all these hopefuls filling the RPG board with things like "Fight Darlok, I will never bow to him!" They would never have met him and never have even been in town. It is an annoyance.

Sure, you can create a usergroup on the board "account only".
But than, you first have to set free for this group all chars, which have allready an account and after that you have to set free all chars, which get a new account each day.
And for this work, there seemed not to be the time and need.
I have suggested the same allready in April.

I see, well maybe sometime in the future a solution will be found, but at the moment I'll just try not to let it get on my nerves.
