Arrival

Post by K'Zsa »

She crested the water and looked over at the horizon - Sand and nothing else. She was here.
The swim was over, through cold waters to warm waters. She was here.
The place she heard of. A haven of the mother in a place forsaken by her. She was here.
A desert, a place not fit for a respectable lizard. A place where only an outcast could live, the clanless and the hopeless. In short; the alone. She was here.
She was alone and she had been for so many years. But now she was here.

She had made something of a home here in the dry place. sometimes the wind picked up and made the air dryer than you could imagine. Throwing the sand into her eyes, it was coarse and rough and irritating. She hated the dryness, the sand in the air. Truly, this place was forgotten by the mother.

So why did she feel compelled to stay? She did not want to be on her own any longer.
She expected to find siblings in this place, after all. There was an altar to the mother, her children are always near her homes.

But the brothers she met here were bizarre. One wanted to be a weapon more than a brother and the other wanted to be scaleless more than a brother.
One said he was broken though he had all his limbs, and the other did nothing but break. It vexed her greatly.

She sat in one of the brother's dwellings. it was alien to her, and it seemed almost like a shell a crab would dwell in,the roof kept the sand in the wind off of her, so she liked it. But she knew if it ever rained here, she would hate that same roof.
