The concentration in our waters has slightly decreased since the last surveys, but there is still a high burden for life connected to these waters even in this concentration.
Since the previously developed antidote is based on a mixture in the waterhole of Runewick, in which we have already taken into account existing active substances, we can unfortunately no longer use this recipe, as it means it must be adapted to the current situation.
Another insight has come to light while studying a reconstructed note of the great former alchemist Aldyros Benvolte.
If larger quantities of a brew are to be prepared for special applications, the increased risk of explosion must be considered above all. The mixtures for two different effects should then be prepared separately and later brought together after adding the catalyst. We are no longer talking about a drinkable potion but a two-component brew. For this method, different rules apply in the application of the known catalysts, which are popularly known as gem dust. That there is only a special grouping of alchemists, or rather very idiosyncratic creatures that knows about this technique of alchemy, this method has to been further explored.
To discuss the course of action, we will meet on the 11th of Eldas 65 at the fifteenth hour in the Faculty of Nature and Alchemy in Runewick. It is expected that we will have a field trip.
We have found a way to produce larger quantities of an antidote with two active ingredients. Both active ingredients are made separately and only added together later into the water. This allows the potions to be created safely and also saves herbs.
We need 12 full rum bottles with effect highly toxic Orcanol, and 18 full rum bottles with effect highly toxic Fenolin.
Special rum bottles with wide neck will be made by Inara.
It would be very helpful if other alchemists can help us to make the components.
To fill the rum bottles we need:
72 potions with pure effect highly toxic orcanol and as catalyst emerald dust.
108 potions of pure effect highly toxic fenolin and as a catalyst topaz dust.
Recipes and topaz dust are available from Deanna.
We still need some emerald dust and most importantly empty potion bottles.
The finished potions are collected by Yridia and Deanna.
In the detoxification procedure, we then put the components into the rum bottles, and then in 6 different places we pipe 2 rum bottles each with Orcanol and 3 rum bottles each with Fenolin. This mixing ratio corresponds to the degree of intoxication due to the absence of these active ingredients.
The places for the introduction of the antidote Zelphira wants to mark us on a map.
Wir haben einen Weg herausgefunden, größere Mengen eines Gegengifts mit zwei Wirkstoffen zu erzeugen. Beide Wirkstoffe werden getrennt hergestellt und erst später ins Wasser zusammengegeben. Dadurch können die Tränke gefahrlos erstellt werden und auch Kräuter eingespart werden.
Wir benötigen 12 volle Rumflaschen mit Wirkung hoch toxischen Orcanols, sowie 18 volle Rumflaschen mit Wirkung hoch toxischem Fenolin.
Spezielle Rumflaschen mit weitem Hals werden von Inara angefertigt.
Es wäre sehr hilfreich wenn andere Alchemisten uns bei der Herstellung der Komponenten helfen können.
Zum Befüllen der Rumflaschen benötigen wir:
72 Tränke mit reiner Wirkung hoch toxisches Orcanol und als Katalysator Smaragdstaub
108 Tränke mit reiner Wirkung hoch toxisches Fenolin und als Katalysator Topazstaub.
Rezepte und Topazstaub sind bei Deanna erhältlich.
Wir benötigen noch etwas Smaragdstaub und vor allem leere Trankflaschen.
Die fertigen Tränke werden von Yridia und Deanna gesammelt.
Bei der Entgiftungsprozedur, geben wir die Komponeten dann in die Rumflaschen, und leiten dann an 6 verschiedenen Stellen je 2 Rumflaschen mit Orcanol und je 3 Rumflaschen Fenolin ein. Dieses Mischverhältnis entspricht dem Grad der Vergiftung durch Fehlen dieser Wirkstoffe.
Die Orte für die Einleitung des Gegengiftes will uns Zelphira auf einer Karte markieren.
When planning the number of rum bottles, we made a mistake in our thinking, which we fortunately noticed when we carried out a test. The components cannot be added to the water separately, because they then dilute ineffectively. Although the two components are prepared separately, they must then be mixed first, because only then is a new composition created with the intended detoxifying effect. Since the concentration of the active ingredients in the water is different, the orcanol and fenolin mixtures must be mixed in a 2:3 ratio. Thus, 2 Orcanol/Emerald mixtures, and 3 Fenolin/Topas mixtures are added to each of the rum bottles. This increased the number of rum bottles needed to 36.

Bei der Planung der Rumflaschen unterlief uns ein Gedankenfehler, den wir zum Glück bei der Durchführung eines Versuchs noch bemerkt haben. Die Komponenten können nicht getrennt ins Wasser gegeben werden, weil sie dann wirkungslos verdünnen. Die beiden Komponenten werden zwar getrennt hergestellt, müssen dann aber zuerst gemischt werden, denn nur dann entsteht eine neue Zusammensetzung mit der beabsichtigten entgiftenden Wirkung. Da die Konzentration der Wirkstoffe im Wasser unterschiedlich ist, müssen die Orcanol- und Fenolin-Mischungen in Verhältnis 2:3 gemischt werden. In jede der Rumflaschen werden somit 2 Orcanol/Smaragd Mischungen, sowie 3 Fenolin/Topas Mischungen gegeben. Die Zahl der benötigten Rumflaschen erhöhte sich damit auf 36.

The antidote was brewed and piped into the water. At the suggestion of Aswe, application of the antidote was begun at the spring in Yewdale. Later additional portions were applied to other beaches around Runewick.
Water samples are now being taken and analyzed at regular intervals. First measurements have shown that the concentration of poison has already decreased.

Das Gegengift wurde gebraut und ins Wasser geleitet. Auf Vorschlag von Aswe wurde mit der Ausbringung des Gegengiftes an der Quelle in Eibental begonnen, weitere Teile wurden an anderen Stränden um Runewick ausgebracht.
Es werden nun in regelmässigen Abständen Wasserproben genommen und untersucht. Erste Messungen haben ergeben, das die Giftkonzentration bereits zurückgegangen ist.

Die Aktivierung soll laut Shukei erfolgen, wenn die Münze gerieben wird. Es wird empfohlen diese Münze eingepackt an die Fakultät der Natur und Alchemie zur Untersuchung zu geben.
In diesem Zusammenhang einige Worte zu dem Rattenalchemisten Shukei, der uns bei der Anmischung des Gegengiftes aufsuchte.
War der erste Kontakt noch konfliktbehaftet, so schien Shukei die Wichtigkeit der Anwendung der angeblich von ihm entwickelten Zweikomponentenmethode zu erkennen, indem der uns einen Hinweis gab, der beim Vorgehen der Mischreihenfolgen bei großen Mengen sehr wichtig ist. Unser besonderer Dank gilt daher Shukei, dem Ratenalchemisten.
Dieses Ereignis zeigte uns, das diese von vielen geächtete Rasse zum einen respektable Ergebnisse in der Wissenschaft errungen hat, und sie zum anderen durchaus die Neigung hat, diese Kenntnisse mit anderen Rassen zu teilen wenn ein gemeinsames Interesse vorliegt.
It is a special pleasure for me to announce some good news on this way.
Yridia and I have taken samples from our waters again on 8.Malas 65 and found that the waters in the stream in front of Runewick are now free of the toxins.
Only in the small stream between Runewick's islands are small traces of a lack of fenolin still detectable. We assume that this is due to the slower water exchange and that this area will also be completely free of toxins in a few days.
Es ist mir eine besondere Freude auf diesem Weg eine gute Nachricht zu verkünden.
Yridia und ich haben am 8.Malas 65 nochmals Proben von unseren Gewässern entnommen und festgestellt, dass das Gewässer im Strom vor Runewick inzwischen frei von den Giften ist.
Lediglich im kleinen Strom zwischen Runewicks Inseln sind noch geringe Spuren eines Mangels an Fenolin feststellbar. Wir gehen davon aus, dass es an dem langsameren Wasseraustausch liegt und auch dieser Bereich in wenigen Tagen vollkommen frei von Giften ist.
In the meantime, even the last place in our waters is free from the poison to which our nature was once exposed.
The previous activity, which caused the poisoning, as well as several attempts to eliminate the poisoning were marked by partial successes but also by failures.
The term failure is not necessarily a negative term in science, because also failures usually bring a realization and are therefore a part of our learning. However, this kind of insight is more desired in our experiments and laboratories. But they are important when scientific solutions are needed in serious situations. Here we want to achieve success if possible, so doing active science is as important as training with a sword is for a fighter.
Mittlerweile ist auch die letzte Stelle in unseren Gewässern frei von dem Gift, welchem unsere Natur einst ausgesetzt war.
Die vorausgegangene Aktivität, welche die Vergiftung auslösste, sowie mehrere Versuche die Vergiftung zu beseitigen waren von Teilerfolgen aber auch von Misserfolgen geprägt.
Der Begriff Misserfolg ist in der Wissenschaft nicht unbedingt ein negativer Ausdruck, den auch Misserfolge erbringen meist eine Erkenntnis und sind daher ein Teil unseres Lernens. Diese Art der Erkenntnisse ist jedoch eher in unseren Versuchen und Laboren erwünscht. Aber sie sind wichtig wenn wissenschaftliche Lösung bei ernsthaften Situationen gefragt sind. Hier wollen wir möglichst einen Erfolg erwirken, daher ist das Betreiben einer aktiven Wissenschaft ebenso wichtig wie für den Kämpfer das Trainieren mit dem Schwert.
