Helping a new player

Hello, im very new to this and was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me get into the swing of things, if you need an RP reason my character is a starting out mage so maybe i can be an apprentice to someone? :P

Welcome! I'm sure there will be plenty to help or even RP Teacher and assistant. In the mean time your best bet is to get on irc and ask the questions you need.. http://illarion.org/community/us_chat.php.

Also it helps to look at the stickies in this forum :) Feel free to send PM's also with questions.

What is a " GR " button ? Alt GR is needed to display names, I don't have a GR. Or is that tech slang I should know?

You can press your F12 button to display names. Different names will be displayed for different presses, one just for monsters.. another for all.
