21st Zhas 45 RUNEWICK'S SCHOOL SHAMING THE GODS
Do the lessons given at this school found in Runewick be to benefit the town or this “order” as me has learned?
by Jiselle
The professor what be teachin’ the topic about theology and how to bein’ a priest demanded everyone follow the “codex” of this “order” he be in and failure to do so would not be tolerated by anyone, including them what has not become a member of the “order” or the town of Runewick. Me not join this “order” so why me being forced to follow their “codex” in order to take a class? Usin' a teachin’ position to force others to follow the ways of an “order” is underhanded and dirty. Me not tolerate it and me leave. Why others sit idly by and follow rules of a guild as if it be Runewick law? Why it be demanded before me can sit and participate in a class?
Worse still, chargin' to take classes and share knowledge in the ancient arts. The Gods themselves encourage the sharin’ of knowledge. Why be it necessary to charge a magical gemstone for those what live outside of Runewick’s walls to learn what is to be learned there? And what be done with these gemstones? They be used for the greater good of Runewick or hoarded by the “order”?
Why be it the “order” puts their concerns above those of teachin’ and above the God’s themselves? The mighty Elara would smite them all for daring! Elara, she be the one to reject wealth and share wisdom freely. Me fairly certain Elara even be a patron Goddess of Runewick. For shame! FOR SHAME!
The teacher of the class me attended said quite appropriately that we all needs to “drink Tanoras water and breathe Findaris air. So we couldn’t ignore them, [any of them], even if we favor one god.”
Me calls on the good people of Runewick to pray to Elara for clarity and understandin'.

19th Ushos 45 GODDESS CHERGA
Why be Goddess Cherga Associated Only With Necromancy?
by Jiselle
Me recently met someone who thought all followers of the mighty Cherga be all Necromancers. The logic is clear, but me don't agree for simple reason, not all followers are users of magic. Me would caution you all not to let your fears get the better of you. Just because some followers do dabble in Necromancy, don't mean all do.
The mighty Goddess gives much to everyone, collecting the dead and delivering them to the appropriate realm. More importantly, our mighty Cherga provides rest and protection for our dearly departed. She gives them peace in the afterlife. Many of her followers believe their souls will be reborn and will therefore achieve eternal life.
Do not so easily assume her graciousness.

16th Siros 45 REFLECTIONS OF ELARA
Look to her for guidance.
by The Phoenix
It is my estimation one of the most overlooked and underappreciated Gods or Goddesses is Elara. She is readily known as the Goddess of Wisdom but so few seek her out as a guiding force. Even less, call upon her in times of trial for matters of justice. Do not think because the traditional Elara follower is found with their nose in a book and not speaking, that their eyes and ears trained in the Goddesses ways, miss hearing and seeing all. Undertones and dual meaning are no mystery to them as they follow in their Goddess's path.
I beseech you all in your times of trial, to fall to your knees before her and ask for guidance.
16th Siros 45 WAISTING THE GOD'S BLESSINGS
So many people frivolously use what the gods have given us.
by Jiselle
Me be a humble servant of the gods from a small pigmy tribe in the middle of no place. Me tribe has to work hard for every scrap of food and drop of water, to put shelter over our heads and keep our new born babes alive. Food practically run up and fling itself onto your plate here, with fixings and all! Me never seen such abundance. With drinkable water everywhere, me has to wonder if anyone here ever went a day wanting for either in their lives. You all run around, visiting me mighty Goddess Cherga to be resurrected, and this be an expectation, not a hopeful blessing or gift.
Every day, before me goes to sleeping, me remembers to pull out me prayer stick and thank the gods what helped me that day. Do each of you remember to thank the gods for blessing you? Me knows, you all don't got a fancy prayer stick like me. Just needs to find a way to remember the gods and thank them.
Today me'll be remembering the following for blessings bestowed…
Ushara - Goddess of Earth, for the grand food and blessings at me table and all around me always.
Brágon - God of Fire, for blessing me with fire, both in me hearth and in me heart.
Eldan - God of Spirit, for blessing me with the urge to learn and be more than me is now.
Tanora - Goddess of Water, for blessing me with bountiful water all around.
Findari - Goddess of Air, for blessing me with the air me breathes each and every day.
Elara - Goddess of Wisdom and Knowledge, for blessing me with a passion to spread my knowledge and question what I see and hear.
Oldra - Goddess of Life and Fertility, also for her blessings of food and such.
Cherga - Goddess of Spirits and the Underworld, for not taking me from this world and keeping me as her own this day, me thanks her.
Look to her for guidance.

12th Ronas 45 LIGHT NEEDS DARK
The light needs dark and goodness needs evil.
by Jiselle
In all things, there needs to be the balance to offset it. Even too much of a good thing be bad. Ever eat so much pie that ye start to get sick? Does this make pie bad or evil? No, this just means you are a ninny who don't know when to stop! Don't be blaming it on the poor innocent pie. Me likes the sunshine, but me skin would blister and bleed if me never had respite from it in the cool night time air. Plants need the sunshine and the rain. Balance in all things.
Same is needed with these gods of ours. They balance each other out so no god gains too much power over the others. Good gods, bad gods, who is to judge, this not be what me is writing about here. Me just be saying, we needs them all to keep all the gods in check. We certainly canna do that ourselves. Them old wars between them gods was bad from what me's read. Me for one would not like to live through one of them there wars of the gods.
Perhaps some of our longer lived friends have lived through a war of the gods and recall? Some of them there stories would be mighty appreciated, please write them there down and send them to me for publication if'n you feel like sharing.

12th Bras 45 SPIRITUAL GROWTH-BEARING THE BURDEN
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Gods.
by Jiselle
Have any of all y'all noticed that we be learning our greatest spiritual lessons through episodes of pain, suffering, and adversity? When we be prosperous and happy, content and comfortable, we not be thinking about the gods and their gifts. No we not be thinking about spiritual understanding and trying to reconcile what has been happening in our lives with how the Gods be benefiting us. Real spiritual growth only be occurring during times of intense pain, suffering and loss. Look deep in your hearts, you will find this to be true, always, without exception.
Yet, you all know, we try and avoid pain and suffering while we also try and grow closer and grow a deeper relationship with our chosen God. As me has said, this is counterproductive in the process, but how we function in life. The fact of the matter is, grass grows thicker and greener in the valley than it does on the mountaintop. And so it be with us. We grow more in character and spirituality in the valleys of life, than we do on the mountaintops of life.
This just be the way it be: - Just as the smelter's fire purifies gold. - Just as the smither's heat strengthens and tempers steel. - Just as the cook's boiling water brings out the flavor of tea. Sad but true, we must enter times of fire, pain, and suffering if we are ever to be fully drawn to a deep relationship with our chosen God. For it is through this relationship that we will truly break apart from the pain and suffering and become who we are meant to be, bearing these burdens and being the better person for it, walking in the footsteps with our chosen God.

7th Eldas 45 FEAR OF THE GODS
A healthy fear of some Gods and their followers be a good thing!
by Rawsty
Jiselle done wrote on the 19th Ushos 45, "Me would caution you all not to let your fears get the better of you." I say poppycock! Fear is a healthy reaction to the Gods. This could also be translated loosely into awe, holy reverence, or respect for a particular God. In that article, Jiselle be speaking about the followers of Cherga, but we could expand this to include the Goddess herself, and Moshran and all of his followers. There is fear of them as well. But also quite the healthy respect. None of us is daft enough to walk up to one of these followers and get into a fight with them without proper support. We all know what the followers may be into and what their Gods may do to help them if called upon.
Sure, Jiselle says that, "some followers [of Cherga] do dabble in Necromancy, don't mean all do." I say, how can you know which is which? Who is to say which do practice and which do not? And how many followers of Moshran are not evil? Are there any? Having a good healthy respect and understanding of this has kept many a person alive.
7th Eldas 45 HOW TO STUNT YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Cut back on your communication with your chosen God.
by Jiselle
The fastest way to stunt your spiritual growth is to stop praying first thing in the morning so you aren't thinking about your God all day long. When me wakes, the early morning prayer and communication with me Goddess be the first thing on me mind. Me starts me day communicating with me Goddess, finding it as natural as breathing. This also helps me keep me Goddess on me mind during the day and in me conversations.
If your goal is to regress spiritually, then stop sharing and spreading the word of your God. You sure wouldn't want to have the words of your chosen God on your lips and in your mouth. Me talk of me Goddess often, sharing her gloriousness with many. And now me writes this here newsletter to spread the news of the Gods even further. Me shares in the fellowship with other believers and talk of other Gods with many other peoples. This helps me and them work through our pains, issues, and struggles, and, hopefully, we all grow spiritually each day.
By no means should you take any personal time to make offerings to your God, visiting his altar or taking the time to tend to the altar and surroundings. This might lead to large amounts of spiritual growth. Goodness, what be you thinking. Me see the altars around, looking mostly abandoned and nary visited at all. Why are there no services held each week or each month? Do we have no priests for such things? Me sees no announcements for such. And me has yet to even find an altar dedicated to my mighty Cherga. Me does fear what state her altar will be in when me does finally discover it.

7th Irmas 45 FEAR OR UNDERAPPRECIATED
The deity are very underappreciated in Illarion.
by Jrixibell
For the first time since my arrival to this land, I have heard of a prayer service. The god of the mountain, Irmorom. As is often noted in the God's Eye View, the deity are very underappreciated in Illarion. This brings me to ponder, are they underappreciated or are followers simply too scared of persecution if they name their patron. Back in my village, people that did not do public, vocal devotions to the Goddess were considered heretics. As the Journey Tapestry expands, I continue to find out more and more of the differences in our cultures.

6th Olos 45
Nargun is Here!
by Jirixibell
The sometimes thought godless town of Galmair has received evidence that at least one of its Patrons is around and watching. Overnight the long tunnels of the sewers shrank. Nargun lives and breathes in Galmair. As I walked the tunnels looking for the presence of the deity making the changes, I found my evidence at the Nargun altar. No one standing in that room for long can deny the God’s presence and favour for the town.

19th of Adras 45 THERE BE NO RESPECT OF THE MIGHTY CHERGA
A book in Runewick calls her Cheerga!
by Jiselle
The disrespect be appalling. In a book entitled, "My First Lore of the Gods," the author Nilia Ephraimsdauther lists all the younger gods in alphabetical order and what general things be known of each god. First there be Adron and next there be Cheerga… CHEERGA! Like she be all cheerful or a cheerleader or some stupid thing! The author manages to name all the other gods correctly, including the Demi Gods… Cherass, Bjomer, and Dragorog, some rather difficult names, which are not well known.
This book is only three pages long and of very few words, but it cannot even get an important name correct, one of the more important and relied upon gods of Illarion! This book shouldn't exist!
I wanted to request the book be burned, but the girls me spoke with thought it better to request the book be amended. Since this not be my town, I will try and be more flexible and compromise. If we cannot get the book amended to read Cherga's name correctly, I would like to have it burned with all due haste.
For something better to read, I would suggest reading "Gods of Illarion," published by the association of little people. I'm not sure what that means or who they be, but it is a far more appropriate book and does not mislead. It too can be found in the grand library of Runewick.
