World map

I have a friend whose map shows all the explored areas. It opens on a pop-up map like a parchment.
My map, however, shows only the minimap, I mean, I can see the explored areas, but only in that small window on top right. I only have the options 'zoom in' and 'zoom out', but he also has an option to show the entire explored map.
Are there any files missing in my pc?

No, you just have to change the graphic settings in the options. Set them on high, when your pc can cope with that, and i'm sure you'll see the map as parchment as well.

In addition to the things Ashayen wrote already, you have to be at the ground level to show the map. Its disabled in case you are in a cave or on a hill/mountain/house.

Middle click the mini-map.
