You probably can see the second moon. Our own moon reflects the light of the sun, hence why you can see it. We get the moon changes because of where the sun in comparison to the moon. Now being as we do get a "new moon" period where it is completely dark, it is possible that the moon is on the completely other side of the sun and we can't see it at all.
lol, I didn't read this thread for some days and see lots of discussions about the moons. The linked article was written after a developer asked for informations about the moon(s) and there was no "damien-ish" information available.
This is what is means technically: Both moons move from south to north during the night. When the night begins, the smaller one starts its journey and by the middle of the night, it sets in the north. Just in that moment, the bigger moon rises in the south, to follow the smaller moon on his path. So, except this brief moment, only one moon can be seen in the sky, the 1st half of the night being more dark than the 2nd half.
So, when the dragon clock only shows one moon at a time, this fits the description above. But in the end... does is matter so much?
One request: Comparing Illarion to earth is in vain. Illarion's moons could move in circles in the sky or dance around. It's a fantasy world!
