Injurey for the people!

Post by Logrin Parr »

I was thinking, every now and then when someone is sent to the cross, they immediately jump back whistling dixie and go about being bright eyed and bushy tail. Eating a small meal and crafting until they feel well enough to fight again, or even fighting again without the message letting them know the worst is behind them. Now of course I'm not saying this is rampant or a ruination of the game we all love. Nothing of the sort, I have not but adoration and fondness for you all. BUT I WANT YOUR BONES TO BREAK! Could there be a small chance of say, breaking your arm or wrist when sent to the cross. That would mean you could only do things that require on hand while it heals. Suggestions? Flesh this idea out people, I'm dreadfully unimaginative!

The cross and injury have been brought up in proposals other times. My opinion from past reads is that there are different interpretations of the cross, one being the gods heal you there. This wouldn't coincide with your proposal. My personal opinion is the more left for the imagination of RP without using game mechanics, the better. My chars are always extremely ill if go to the cross and I like to RP different injuries, this would take away some of the imagination. I also believe the loss of items, skill, and the "weakness" after is enough.

Well. Eating a small meal doesn't really help against the weakness after the cross. Also crafting is difficult due the lowered dexterity you can create hardly anything usefull.

But I have a nice idea what to add. It should be possible to lower the maximum health along with the attributes so the health bar can't raise to the top after you went to cross.

There are 3 positive effects by this.
1. You can't run to fight instandly again.
2. Other see that you are weak currently due the health indicator in the character description.
3. You how long the lowered attributes will last since the health bar is up to 100% again when the last attributepoint is restored.

What do you think about this?

I like the idea of the lowered health bar reflecting the weakness after going to the cross, time-wise this would be no longer then the weakness of attribute now?

Exactly the same time. It would work as kind of progress bar, how long the effect will remain.
