Tracing system
Allright, I'm sure the developers have allready some kind of tracking system in their mind, but all this kipnapping is sometimes simply bad RP, you can't find..or only with luck, someone who hides somewhere.
I take the time as Lennier was kidnapped, we knew that atleast they were on Tol Vanima and even got the help of Damien, who surely knows every part on Tol Vanima, still we were unable to find our Enemy, why?
Well thats easy, because people using technical restrictions to their advance, as chars can't read any tracks, you are stuck on your luck or even use an Gm, who tracks them and then says if you are near or far away from the criminals.
The reason why I writte this is simply to find some kind of solution, asking people where they are held and then run straight there won't help much, but just walking around and checking every tile because there could be some kind of trap door is not good rp either, normally if someone runs or drags someone trougth a forest you should find some kind of cloth stuck in branches or on the ground, even a magical tracking should be able normally, even a simple Arrow or a point flashing on the minimap would be very helpfull, but as we have no system as this we are back stuck on using OOC or walking stupid trougth the woods hoping to find someone.
Now I'm asking myself how do the others handle this, you simply walk around or you ask someone over msn and so on where they are held and the look if you can get there somehow, without forcing your rp ?
For joro and ayla, I could just ask them and they may even say me the point, but I don't want this, because this would give me some kind of advantage over others, neither I want to ask an Gm where they are held and ask if my char finds some kind of track.

Do you mean something like this, Nitram? I might be wrong, but I assume this can be coded in an hour (4 for me).

I appreciate the attention you're offering to that 'plot', Pellandria.
But just something to know, we didn't plan it to be a 'searching for missing characters' kind of plot, but rather as a 'find who did it, why, etc..' kind of plot, if you understand what I mean. Because even in real life, not considering /technical restrictions/, it is impossible to find someone who has been kidnapped, or extremely hard, and you'd need to be very lucky.
I'd be very glad to chat about issues, matters, and arrangements we could do to make it enjoyable to the most, which is the first and unique goal of this plot, having fun. (PM me, if you like)
Thank-you.

No its mainly a general issue, your kidnapping isn't the first and won't be the last and even if I ooc now that its sensless to search and what plot you are planning, my char won't sit in the tavern and wait till some demandings or something else comes out and surely it would be strange if you know a forest or a place on the island for years and suddendly something changes gravily or you find several human tracks leading somewhere.
Can you please stop whining? You're not meant to find them any time soon, go with the RP.Pellandria wrote:No its mainly a general issue, your kidnapping isn't the first and won't be the last and even if I ooc now that its sensless to search and what plot you are planning, my char won't sit in the tavern and wait till some demandings or something else comes out and surely it would be strange if you know a forest or a place on the island for years and suddendly something changes gravily or you find several human tracks leading somewhere.
(( By the way, I have nothing to do with that quest, so it comes from a third-party. ))

Indeed, the plot is to find out who the culprit is rather than where they are, but since I am truly nice, and like to please everyone, with the help of Nitram, some clues have been scattered around the map. If you want, you can post roleplay replies about searches and such on the boards and if I can, I'll review them and give additional clues.
Also please remember, we're here to have fun!
Thanks you.

@gildon:1. I'm not whining, I simply point out technical flaws and how some of us use them against the other players, this is why I made this post here, if I would intend to whine then I would have said something along the lines " Its unfair, give joro back", but as you see some of us still want to keep the game running.
@ Darky: Thanks, I think this will be of helpand improve the overall situation and again as I ooc know that its about to find out who it is, ig my char doesn't know this and won't sit there..or not untill she finds something.

i started to ignore every kidnapping happening ingame. there are too many and such rp became ridiculous and boring. sorry, but 4 kidnappings a week is simply stupid and made me ignoring everything around it.
those players simply don't see what it mean to use such extrem roleplay too often.
You should understand that it destroys such roleplay chances if you use them too much. it is simply ridiculous if you kidnapp someone every few days, and that after your last victim got released and you beaten.
You destroy yourself the chances and possibilitys to achief something with such roleplay.
And others start to ignore it aswell since it happens all the time. We simply don't wish to run after you kidnappers every two days. There is much other roleplay and happenings we want to attend and do. And not just your kidnappings.

Samantha, stop mumbling please. I just woke up and my advil hasn't set in.
All in all; yes. Dark, you have achieved your goal for the most part. Dantagon, Ayla, Zub, and I think Dain sat down and did some deduction on who we thought was doing it. After about an hour when Ayla was napped, people went crazy and Pell and Oger set out in a bunch of different places.
Frankly, I found the conversation about who did it much more interesting than scanning the forests for a hole in a ground, when neither kidnapped player was online.
