Computer Space Saver deleting illarion??

Post by Rasteel Olin »

That happened for the second time now.
I use a program called CCleaner to clear excess space from my pc.
(Cookies and such)
And each time i use it, illarion seems to get deleted and I have to reinstall the 33MB again (that means wait 4-5 hours)
So I wanna know, this is what this program deletes, please tell me in what category is illarion so next time i dont clear those:

Internet Explorer:
Temporary Internet Files
Cookies
History
Recently Typed URLs
Delete Index.dat files
Last Download Location

Windows Explorer:
Recent Documents
Run (in Start Menu)
Search Assistant Autocomplete
Other Explorer MRUs

System:
Empty Recycle Bin
Temporary Files
Clipboard
Memory Dumps
Chkdsk File Fragments
Windows Log Files

Please, tell me which NOT to delete next time.
Now I have to wait 4 hours for illarion to download again since the offline installer is causing trouble as usually..

Thanks

----------------
Karl (PO Brer) just told me it does that for him too

I also missed a window, it also deletes those:

Sun Java

And in the output, it shows some illarion files.

So yeah, nevermind. I found the source of the problem..

Anyone who uses CCleaner, watch for that. ;)

And what was the problem exactly? What setting in CCleaner deletes Java/Illarion?

When you're using the cleaner option of CCleaner
(There are also the Issues, Tools and Options options);
In the cleaner settings, there are two tabs:
Windows and Applications
Under the Applications tab,
Under 'Internet'
There's 'Sun Java'
Uncheck that so you don't delete the illarion files that will make you re-download it.
I haven't tested it myself, but I asked Karl (PO Brer Beotch) to test it, and he did, and it seems to be the option that deletes the files.

Hm, it makes sense because Illarion is saved in the Java Cache.
It is always a good idea to look what these programs want to delete.
