Ideas about changing the map.

Post by Armil Darken »

First off I know that there is not a map edititor yet.

I think all the major resources and important parts of the map are on the west side of the island to the east there is lots of forest, to the west there is 2 castles most all of the monster places sand enough forest, rock 2 of the 3 small caves the shopkeeper.

The map needs to be more balanced.

We need al lot less rock and more plains there is about 45% of the NW part of the map is rock and 45% of the SW part is forest the rest is sand and plains in between. To the east there is 80% forest and 20% plains. If the game creators want less mining and more variety of professions they need to change the landscape to be more balanced. There should be some rock in the east and some in the west. There is a definite shortage of large square areas of plains to have a farm, It goesent matter to me if there is about a 25x25 square of plains in the middle of nowhere to farm and you have to walk 1/2 way across the map to get to a depot. Also if such an area were to be made I would buy a small public building with a millstone and smoke oven. (Yes the smoke oven is for meat so I would like pigs to be near because it would be near, also I would like sheep to be there and the machines to spin and weave the wool. Even with all this I wouldn't care if there wasn't a depot anywhere near.) To me this woud be a nice place to relax away from the sharp rocks and banging of anvils and to enjoy a nice solitary life as a farmer with a few compainons.

Also we need to remove som of the massive amount of rouk.

I would also like somewhere near the ocean to have a beach with diggiable sand insteas of the desert.

Are you aware that that makes absolutely no sense at all?
Please clarify.

There is currently a totally different map with resources that we have in a file that needs to be loaded into the live map, but some code changes need to be done before this can happen.

It's already going to happen, this is a moot poll.

There's also a lot more interesting things in the north than there are in the south 8)

Well now that I know that a different map will come like Serp said this is pointless, and John I was mainly comparing the east and the west. I wonder if this map is the ones people are claiming to have visions about. I hope I didnt offend you serp when I complained it was just an idea. (You were pretty blunt about the poll being pointless.) Oh and Serp will the new map include building or refunds for buildings that people bought. Mishrack basically what i was saying that to the east there is a lot more places that are useful and worth visiting.

I think the best thing would be to have another town made. That way Troll's bane won't be so crowded. I think a little village smaller the trolls' bane should be made somewhere out in the forest :) that would be wonderful
