They talk about money all the time because that is the reason they came to this world. When you whistle your way around the town, all you see is merry little halflings and dirty dwarves scuffling their way to work. Ofcourse, its not bad having a few coins in the coffers when the retirement age reaches, but as I always whine; the mentality of Trolls Banes citizens is corrupted by greediness!

griitash, you can call us dirty (provided you can run fast
) but we never scuffling to our work . we are a hard-working folk and we do it with pleasure. we haven't the shyness of some elves and hobbits to make us dirty. we are proud of every spot on our clothes, because it is a sign of honourable work. and yes, we like gold and silver. me for example was born only a few steps away of a huge gold deposit.

Sir Griitash:
I do not know you, you do not know me. Personally I would prefer to keep it that way. I do not know who you are, besides the fact that you were here long ago, but you are merely annoying the people who read these messages by whining about the greediness of the citizens. I can guarantee that at least 70% of the people of this town work only to make ends meet. I know that I work to provide for my soon-to-be fiancee. And I am sure there are at least a few people who work for similar reasons. I do not know, or care, how long a citizen you have been of this land, but regardless of that, you do not have the right to criticize the people's way of life. It is much more disgusting to see someone complain about corruption so often, than it is to actually witness the minor disturbances of greed our town ever offers. You are probably just upset that people built a building over "your" cabbage field in your absence. Well that is just too bad and you have to get over it.

First of all, my age, time of presence on this island or achivements were never mentioned as means to make my "whining" more legible than yours.
Furthermore, I have never spoken of corruption, I said "corrupted by greediness" You can not argue when I say the majority of our fellow citizens care more (our should I say only) for their gold than a mug of ale and a merry time at our local tavern! Just look at what Salathe asked for initally: "How much money do you have?" A question who`s answers were meant as a comparisment!
*beats his head and calms down*
Hmmfh...but, you may be right. Maybe my whining comes at the loss of my eminent cabbage field. Maybe my old age sours my mood. But when my pilgrimage was completed, and I returned from the forest, the first thing I saw was a brickhouse desecrating my spot. Where I intended to sleep that night, people were screaming their bids as the auction of the forementioned house was nearing completion ! The short-tempered orc I was in my youth returned, and THEREFORE, my friend, I started whining. (since my weapon finesse has decreased over the years)
These other things I report of disregard, like the greedy mentality, may only be rare coincidents I funnily enough noticed at several occations.
But I might be wrong, as you "proved" with your percentages. I am not here to make enemies, although some people may deserve the sharp end of an axe buried into their throat.
Back to the cabbage field. When me and my companions started farming at this particular spot, I had never seen people giving this landpiece any attention. You can say it's like Nobilty. The first Nobles took the title. Noone gave it to them. But then again, the first Nobles did not run into the forests seeking knowledge.

Griitash,
You can not stop progress. The island has become more populated, and I tire of tripping over people sleeping in the streets and by the wayside.
There is little place for people to sleep but the woods, and with some of the denizens of the woods lately that is not always an option for those that choose to live by other than the sword.
Where would you have them sleep then?
And, aye, the reason you speak of, no one gave that land a piece of notice, was the reason the, now inn, was built there.
Where would you have it built? Oh, that's right, you would rather people sleep in the streets.

@ Crosis, cool avatar.
For the post, I have over 50 ingots. And i agree with Adano that it is pointless to leave silver ingots in your depot so you can say how rich you are, but I want to save up for a building in the long distant future, maybe a temple even, I just havent decided yet ...
However, donations are welcome
