Weapons Styles balancing?

you do no there is no historical evidence that prove there was ever a weapon called a Zanbato. sorry it was made up. but if we get into context of Japanese weapons. i myself have trained in Naginata-Justsu (basically a Japanese halberd). and it's completely different then wielding an axe. the weapon relies on reach like similar polearms however it's got a fairly average weight, relying more on the power of the stroke and centrifugal as cutting power. axes for combat however are different, why? because there mostly top heavy. the weight of the bladed edge add a large amount of cutting force but makes misbalancing on a missed stroke slow to recover.
