To me Korwin's post was logical. Anyways, who gives a smile if armor in RL would not help the wearer agaisnt lightning? If we were totally realistic, there would be NO mages at all. But I disagree for the money part, fighters dont make money at all. Arameh needs to mine to buy fricking equipment, and its a skilled fighter, imagine weaker ones. Most fighters are crafters, its not just like that for no reason. Salathe is smith, Alexander too, Arameh mine, Stephen is carpenter, Gort was tailor etc. I see very few warriors that dosent need a craft to get money to pay for their things.

Oh yeah, the money issue really sucks as a mage.
Whenever you try to hunt monsters, its just the moment when your fighter doesnt watch out or two monsters accidentally spawn behind him going at you, and youre poofing to the cross as a cloud.
And yeah, have you EVER tried to get the loot when you are standing in the second row shooting at monsters who are dropping close to the fighters ?
See. They even take up the stuff if the item is a wand for mages if they can sell it.
Oh. And fighters just can carry more than you =(
Well, at least i have found a few chars who really like bananas and tangerines. Not that i could afford a full fighter's equipment if i didnt get a good price from a friend. Hehe.

only issue i have with adding more skills to magic is that it would make things more confusing. right now we have what i think six catagories of magic, broken into non elemental form. spells of offense ,creation, control and so on. now think about breaking it down even further. lets take the example of 'theoretical elements'
well we have two catagories
attacking and Creation spells that use fire based magic, for example. now you need a third skill to act as a medium between these two different forms of magic. even if you have a very very capable skill in creation magic.lets say almost maxed. if you don't use fire based magic enough. you don't have fire spells. it just seesm to me that it would break magic into even more catagories then needed. and it would get really confusing.

Well, at least as a mage you dont get annoyed in EVERY damn topic about fricking acting like your attributes. If we would follow that 100% warriors would be complete idiots while only 10% would be decently intelligent. It annoys them cause every mages feels intelligent and fighters are supposed to be a bunch of idiots. NO fighter can have 16 intelligence and decent willpower so that he can reason logically. If we would play with stats, mages woulnt be running like any warriors while they have 4 agility.
Edit : Mages with 6 constitution would always be sick, thoses with low desterity would have troubles throwing anything or catching anything, with low strenght she shoulnt even be able to lift the armors she sells.
Low perception means she would have troubles hearing and with her eyes.
YES ARAMEH! YES!
Its been bugging me for a long time, that stupid saying "play to your attributes" There is such thing as learning you know, the basic skill of intelligence in real life is used only 20% or something like that. Not enough to make a char act stupid all their lives if they have 3 intell.

well stats wise i feel there's a difference when it comes to rping intelligence
3-7 in intelligence i feel would be the low low end and should be rp'd as such. Georgius in fact is a wonderful player in this respect, often not knowing what being said.
8-13 i feel is about the middle range and should be rped in the 'well learned' but not genius sense. people in this range have the ability to learn and can rp themselves as very intelligent, with the downfall that the character in question should probably rp learning anything slower then the genius. after all the term is 'well LEARNED' not 'born genius' and learning moves at different paces for us these people.
above this range i feel you can rp your intelligence as genius like as you want. but being outclassed by someone with more wisedom can happen to the genius and or know it all, as wisedom is a time gained issue.
my two cents.

so he plays his character even better, it's lovely that you complimented him and all, but i don't see how it really effects what i had to say. if Georgius were the basic role model for characters of 8 intelligence then it could be said that your playing Arameh as to intelligent. but thats also why i feel the partiulcar range of 'slightly below to above average' should have the most room to be played.Arameh_ wrote:Georgius has 8 intelligence.
I think thats all I needed to say
My 2 cents.
the latter range of 14-20 i feel is also in this respect where some would be smarter then others but not a hell of alot. what bugs me is the fact that we have all these 16-18 intelligence or even 16-20 strenght players. never before have so many geniuses and professional weight lifters been born or lived in one place. yet since no one really complains i feel that some slack should be cut to lower intelligence players. or any lower stated players rp.
how about not posting nonsensexBaurusx wrote:shutup and wear your rubber.
Did I or anyone else ever say this is not true Arameh? Have you ever SEEN Misjilah? Her frail body? Her constant teleporting to keep her feet from walking too much?Edit : Mages with 6 constitution would always be sick, thoses with low desterity would have troubles throwing anything or catching anything, with low strenght she shoulnt even be able to lift the armors she sells.

And no, I do not have low perception.

On the current "topic": I kind of agree with Athian. Breaking it down even further would be plain nonsense. I already feel confused with these 6 schools, the different runes associated to each, and even about which school does what.

I think Aris has intelligence 3 ;]
And i dont give a damn, and dont intend to play to his stats. I say the stats are thier to be used in conjunction with skills, and only roleplayed to if it suits the person.
Otherwise in a point i made a while back, you could have some idiot in RL whos character has 24 Int, which would place him more Int than most. So do those with 22 Int have to dumb down thier roleplay to match this char
Dumb Scmuck : I has like lots on mind yer.
Samatha : I speak like rock. as got be more stoopid dan this person who charraaater ha more intellegencee than minne.
Stats are for skill
Roleplay is roleplay.. A character can be what the player wants the character to be.
Nothing more nothing less.

Stats have to fit the RP at least to the extend that RP does not collide with technical behaviour of the char. I don't like how the number of skill points limit the available charaters to "average", "intelligent but weakly" and "strong but dumb as rock" either. I play Adano with a much stronger will then he actually has. But it's not really stat, it's more skill. Even though there's no "mental training" skill in Illarion.
