Disgrace!

Post by falco1029 »

This message is very dirty, slightly torn, and has obvious claw marks on it. One who was nearby when the message was posted may have seen a dove attach it to the board

The town guard is a disgrace. It's one thing to jail someone until a trial, but it's another thign entirely to lie to them about it and trick them into thinking they are getting a chance to defend themselves right away! Let's start from the beginning.

I was leaning outside by the trollsbane shop, trying to catch my breath, when all of a sudden this little brat of a kid jumps out and kicks me, and then runs to a lizard and some other human (Whom i believe to be Revlen if I have heard correctly) saying I stole from him! The two approached me about it, and i of course said I knew nothing of what the boy meant. So I was told Id be taken to the jail to be questioned about it. Once there, I am locked in a cell and told ill be questioned in a few minutes. A minute or so later, a gentleman named Armen, i think, came in to report a thief he had seen (not me, an actual one, you know, with WITNESSES that saw him stealing), and when Revlen got back, shooed the man away. ARmen explained what he intended, yet revlen said he didnt care. Sort of funny how a guard is more interested in a fake thief than a real one, isnt it? Anyway, the man refused to leave after being treated so bvadly, so Revlen attacked him. Armen defended himself, but was bested by the guard and thrown into the cell with me, on account of "trespassing".

A little wqhile later, Revlen came back again, knocked Armen out, locked me up, and said I was staying there until a trial were to occur. This is utter nonsense. The guard is a mockery of any sort of judgement system, and the town is a disgrace for allowing them to lead with iron fists as they do! I will not leave my name, but those involved know who i am. I shall now continue to rot in the cell!

A man of around 19 years of age with a red cape covering the right side of his body and his neck stops to read the letter. After going over it, word by word. He chuckles and shakes his head walking on, muttering to the ground

"What a funny guy, I really should get him out of there. Oh well. Nothing i can do yet, don't even have armor, let alone a dagger to pick the lock."

The man turns and looks back at the board, and turns around, with his sly smile growing on his lips.

"Can't leave this without causing some commotion can I? ts ts."

The note he left goes as follows:

Citizenry of Trollsbane,

I too, have witnessed, and been upon the recieving end of this same accusation. Been here only but a day, and been accused of being a theif trice! I beg thee to look over your guard! Grab hold of the riens of the town, You are the citizens, the driving force of the town. A town would be nothing if it wasn't for it's Citizens! Keep an eye on this guard. It seems the murky water closes in from the rivers.

The man who orriginally posted this remark was imprisoned for suspision of theft. And the man who was within the jail when i returned did not mention his intention of reporting a thefr, the imprisoned man said the lad not imprisoned had a theft to report, the lad did not confirm the story. The lad refused to leave, the jail is for guard personel and those to be jailed only. I explained this to him and he kept spouting about how i was a pig and such, which made little difference to me. I continually asked him to leave then was forced to resort to forcably removing him. The lad swung punches at him, so i returned the favor in kind and knocked him unconscious. I put him within a cell to let him cool down, and when i returned to release him he refused to leave once again, so again i was forced to forcably remove him.

And the imprisoned lad named Zen Culbad, though i doubt that is his real name, was to be questioned, but i had more pressing matters to atend to. He was to remain in jail untill his trail even befor i had fully explained this to him, the reason i did not tell him to begin with because he most likely would have resisted and i did not wish to harm the lad.

Revlen,
captain of the guard

A note is written below. It is written in charcoal, and the letters seem to slip to the right slightly, probably from a childish hand.

How can you write a note to everyone, and lie! You couldn't even reach my pockets, you damn dirty thief! So I kicked you and ran to the Guards. You can either stop lieing, or be the cowardly scumbag you are, and take your punishment.

You have proved without doubt this 'criminal' is innocent Mr. Thunnigan.
Perhaps you should cease writing on the walls for fear of humilating yourself again.

A small boy runs past the jail

"Hey, kid", he says hoping to get his attention.

"yes...um...sir?", said the boy, clearly nervous

"Go find the message i posted, you'll recognize it, it has several claw marks. Then read the repsonses and tell em what they say, Ill make it worth your while when i get out"

"Alright...."

The boy goys and looks at the messages, and then runs back to give the man a summary of what they all said. The man writes a small message and tells the boy to go post it for him

Mr Lance has proven my innocence, as according to revlen, he said i stole 10 copper! he cant even get ther story straight! But i suppose this will have to wait until my trial, which i expect to come sometime this year....
