What to do about People who cast in town? - Who can kill the

I have met a few people who even tho after TWO warnings they kept casting spells in town..what actions may I take/ or can ye take?

i do not wish to kill them, but if it is nessicery.

please help me out. how many warnins should i give them? and after that what may i do?

Since cast in town is only limited by the player made rule, us the player, have to manage it. The gods' don't focus their time on this rule. That means anyone can kill em after even just one warning. I give em five or more warnings in both languages. Sometimes 4 languages if I feel kind and up for fast translator jumping the day. Then I give em a clear wake up call... "ok, you ask for it. 5 minutes, grab your gears, we're going to deul" and if they don't, their problem... Also, during the process it is expected that you try to not use spells, or unless you clean up after your self (Wait for the zone to go away so others dont step on it, or just don't use zones at all). Try not to do that too often tho. From time to time, you'll just wander into some stupid powerful mage and come back with a wand to hept kel you to death... Happened to me with a 2000's player... not a pretty pic. Lost a ton of skills on battling and never regained.

and i think ill gve em 3 warnings then challenage to a duel..

you can't cast in town, sorry is "Traurig, Sie können nicht in der Stadt werfen." but I usually use "Sie sollen nicht annehmen, um Magie in der Stadt zu tun. Dank". It means you are not suppose to cast in town, thanks. It sounds more polite.

Terri, don't wonder if no one reacts to your german sentences... they make no sense...
If you translate it back to english, it will be "Sad, you can't throw in the city" and "You shouldn't accept, to do magic in the city".

I wonder what you will receive if you take an english sentence, put it in a computer translator, translate it to german, then back to english... If you do this a several times, you might get something COMPLETELY different...

A correct german sentence would be "Entschuldige, du darfst in der Stadt nicht zaubern."

i give them one warning if one at all... they know they shouldnt be doing it and they need to stop... healing and food calling are the only acceptable ones.... if i know them really good i give a little more time... cause i have had an experience where it was my friends brother messing around trying to get him killed.... so jes whatever you want would do

I say those to the german only people and they seem to some what react to it and start talking to me in german none stop until I say "Ich sprech kien deutch" to em

Well, thanks for clearifying that for me, now we all know that altavista's translation is down the toilet... I'll find some dude to translate it for me next time.... That leaves my fully certain languages down to two... English and Mandarin... and Mandarin looks aquard most of the time on illarion...

I think you should always be patient and give em some warnings. After all, it is a player made rule and not listed on the rules page... Newbies can't tell those until they're introduced to em.

I would say that it may be a three strikes type thing (for serious offenders, ex. fields on the NPC's, fields in doorways, etc.)

1. Warning

2. Explanation

3. Magic "Intimidation" (ie. paralyze or ice bolt once)

4. Full Force

@terri : i kno if theyre newbs or not... i can tell these things for many reasons(which are not many)

1. they have a low #
2. i have seen them doing it b4, and people telling them not to
3. newbs dont do stuff like that... they want to find out about the game... not jes spam everyone

hmm..i just hate when people try to tell me what to do in german (Or at any other language).
but especially in german or any other language unknown to me.

hmm.. maybe i'll start to give all warnings in finnish , yes? nay.. but ..maybe.. watch your back when you hear language that isnt german or english! it migth just be me , mwhahaha!

i have no prob with casting in town if it doesnt bother me or my friends (spam ect.) or endanger somebody .

you will fed up on telling people to stop and then "be the sword of justice" .. haha .. after enough of time they will use you as trainingtargets for their evil spells.

Me myself, let people cast in town... if its not fields and not if they do it to hurt people...
i, only warn once... then attack... as i do NOT enjoy pk's in town...
only explain to them that its not allowed to cast in town...
or at least not to harm people...
show no mercy... even if they are newbies... killing them is a way to learn...
at least if they dont listen to you... (then its usually not newbies... just a wannabe newbie)
but first... earn respect of the majority, so people know you are a nice guy, really...
and if you find out its a newbie, offer to help them learn about the game...

i cant find reasonable translation for the words in that order but
do not cast spells in town is: älä tee taikoja kaupungissa / älä taio kaupungissa
its forbidden to cast spells in town : kaupungissa taikominen on kiellettyä
casting spells in town isnt allowed : taikominen kaupungissa ei oli sallittua / taikojen tekeminen kaupungissa ei ole sallittua.

those translations should serve the purpose..but as far as i know , there are only two active finns playing illarion so for now they are pretty useless.

( uhm... whats "nisse" in english... hmmm.... no... cant translate... maybe udan can help with this)

theese are pretty useless too... as all norwegians know english very well...
