Fellow Adventurers,
As a Farmer's boy, I started adventuring when I was 18. But now I see adventurers, 17, 16, 15, being far more powerful than me, and all I could do is envy. My arm's are growing weak. Was this a too late of age to start?
Thanks,
Sarmin Lavender.

Nope, it is just that their are more active or just play more often, pushing their skills up.

What I mean is, that I put my starting age as 18. Is it too late of an age?

Age doesn't do anything at all in game.

I wouldn't say that, Taylor is 13. And i've had to RP him as gaining strength to hold larger swords and armors. I mean, No one could just pick up a Bastard/two handed sword and use it...You need the strength behind it

I started my characters age at 18.
The illarion calander works that 1 day in rl = 3 illarion days.. So at the age of 18 you still have a long time to go till you have to consider retireing.
Hope that helped

Age doesn't matter because you don't see it in-game. You could have made your character 13 and RP an 18.

There are plenty of ideas floating arround to make age more visible and important in game.
So I wouldn't count on that for too long.

Since it does not play a role right now there is no need to change it.
But to suggest to ignore a stat of your character right away at the creation will, and has in the past, lead to problems in the future.

The most brutalst blow was probably at the time when the DEVs decided to introduce "Intelligence" into magic.
Before, we were a happy group of spell-casting-idiots.
Even this meat shield of knight was able to throw 'Great Fireballs' at will.

Perception is how well you see...or detect what is going on around you
YOu can see herbs better, and you can notice where your enemy isn't defending, therebye increasing the chance of a critical hit...

Also, if I get to 40 or so, do I have to become a farmer or something? And if I don't, will that not be role-play....ish?

Look. THis game allows you do enjoy yourself and do anythign you like.
However take a RP stance to it:
DOnt make a fighter using waraxes a 50 year old human, and dont make a small child kill pigs without getting nightmares.
Just enjoy it, make sure that if you'r rping a small child, make sure he acts like one

If you have problems figuring out what attribute means what, I have compiled a summary a while ago. Its located as a sticky at the top of this board section.
However, as you may see on the posting date, this topic is a bit aged and I can no longer guarantee that its absolutly accurate.
