It is infuriating to go into the inn and find that there are never any portals for sale. They are....in my mind...a way to make the game a little bit easier and more magical but there aren't enough with the merchant.
The way the other NPCs work is the way Nebaar works too, I'm guessing. Except theres one problem: with Nebaar, no one can make portal books and sell them to him. He's the one part of the economy that currently won't work the way the rest do unless he has an endless supply, or unless it becomes possible to make portal books in the future (which would be awesome then but not at the moment) and sell them to him. So Nebaar frequently has nothing to sell you because no one can sell anything to him and he can't replentish his stock that way. I knowd its infuriating but maybe they're working on a solution. Or maybe we all just have to get used to walking! :]
Yeah but why should it be "first come first served"? Sometimes people can't get on when they merchants actually have the items. They should regenerate faster in this case.
Or add a system within the current magic system where an aspiring mage can make a little coin by creating these books. A true mage, of course, can open a portal without the aid of a book.

Do you know how frustrating it is to be an orc who has to journey from the town to the orc cave regularly? I can never get any portal books and when i do i can only get one.
