On Player Abuse of GM Characters and Tools
Ladies and Gentleman,
For the first time ever a player has been banned for abuse of a GM character and GM tools, as a result of this new era in Illarion where trustworthy players can be loaned a GM character if they need it.
All uses of a GM character come with the warning that if you abuse a GM character bad, horrible things will happen to you. In this first case of abuse of one of these GM characters, we have proven it is so.
Do not under any circumstances even think about doing what this player has done. You will be caught, and we don't care how long or how good your time has been at Illarion. If we are going to trust you, you'll have to act as an adult.
I write this as a warning to all those who even think of abusing any priviledges we give you in the future. You now know you will be caught. End of story.
-Mitch
P.S. The password to my GM character that is given to players has changed. If those of you who have access to it, such as the questing group, need it, please contact me.

What I want to add: Every, I say every damn single thing you do on the server is logged. Every word you say, every item you move or pick up, every monster you attack, every fart you do
So, we CAN find out about everything but don't spend the effort to do so for every minor crime. But this is definatly another case.
We don't want to spend our time to spy on you or investigate stuff and collect evidences but to make Illarion a better game with some quests here and there and support for the players.

That much will be kept between the player and the staff. He can choose to reveal it himself, however.
Nitram is doing us the favor of creating a logging system that will log everything you do with GM tools. Be warned that while this player got away with it for some time, this will not happen again. All future cases will be found instantly and end in a ban just as this one. Now everyone has had fair warning.

Maybe I'm simply naive, but it's not understandable for me how one person can act so deceitful and false.
Even 'online'. I've always been told that you only meet people in the internet you can't trust, because you never know if they are telling the truth about themselves. I made different experiences.
But this is shocking me now.
Even more scary is the fact that person surely knew about how easily he could have been caught in this matter and he did it though. There is just the explanation left that he wasn't afraid of the consequences, ergo Illarion meant nothing for him. So I don't assume that we are lacking a good player now.

I was completely shocked to learn first that this happened and second who did it. I do hope that everyone takes this as anexample that one person has the potential to ruin a privilege for everyone, because the next time this happens it wouldn't surprise me if the GMs prevented any of us from ever using GM characters again for quests.
However, I wish to thank Mitch for still putting this amount of trust in the rest of the players whom use his GM char for good causes. It is a pleasure to see just because of this one little incident, he does not forsake the rest (not that I utilise it). Anyhow, there is always one that has to go first, and set an example I suppose.
Thank you Aeghol, for still putting trust in us, thank you the one who found out about the person at hand, for it would inbalance the game and the likes, you know what I mean. Also thanks for Nitram, for prevention of such things.
