The sizzeling sound of the hot metal being dipped in cool water gently tickles Mishrack's senses. As a smith he has grown to love this rewarding sound, synonymous with a succesfull red tinting of a firesword.
After the sword has been cooled enough, he carefully picks it out of the bucket with his tweesers, and places it gently in the growing pile of sharp blades. The sun blinks in the shiny weapons, and Mishrack realises that he's truly happy. For the first time since he left his ancestral home in Graath, he feels at peace with himself and his surroundings.
Mishrack Saga - Chapter 1
Ah yes... Graath... The underground Dwarven city, in the Groshak mountains...
The memories begin to flood Mishrack's mind, and fill him with a sudden urge to return. flashes of the old well, and the dwarven women who used to gather there...
The old nights out in the many taverns with friends family and many tankards of bitter ale, chatting and laughing until the early rays of light...
Many good episodes flash before his eyes thus.
Why had he decided to leave though? He was not sure.
One morning, he had just awoken with a strange feeling inside, like a sly ghost hand gently prodding him in a certain direction, clouding his mind with uneasiness and uncertainty.
Why was he thus filled with urges to just pack up and leave, going no where in particular? Many questions but no answers came to him.
As the days passed, the gentle prodding became a massive push, nearly becoming unbearable, until the fateful day Mishrack decided to give in.
He saluted all his bewildered friends, bade his bedazzled family goodbye. How could he explain to them what he did not understand himself? Instead of worrying more about this, he packed up a few choice items, not forgetting his trusted Smithing hammer "Gjemli" - a family relic, Which had been crafted by a powerful Rune Master centuries ago - It was said to wield certain powers over iron, infusing it with an unnatural strength.
Thus, Mishrack set off, leaving behind everything he knew - his very life - to set off into the uwilderness one some unknown quest.

Mishrack - The story beings...

Mishrack
Mishrack was traveling for a day now, and he came across a huge mountain cliff. As he stared up, leaning back to try to see the top, he saw a mountain goat stumble on the loose rocks, then run off. He breathed a deep breath of the air. He gathered some branches and rocks, making a fire for the night.
In the morning, he gathered his belongings and set out once again. He noticed that he had been following a path that wasn't very noticable... the path wasn't well-worn, but barely distinguishable from the rest of the ground. Shrugging, he followed the direction that he was originally going... which of course, was the same direction the path followed.
((Just adding a little, didn't disturb the story at all, in my opinion

Mishrack
((ye can do better than that
))
After a few days march, Mishrack came to a steep cliff. he knew not why he had gone there, or what to do, so he decided to make camp and ponder things over.
This idleness didn't last long however; as he could hear growls and many trampling feet... usual tell tale sounds of a troll party. Had there been only a few of them, it would not have been a problem; Mishrack descended from an ancient warrior family, and most of his ancestors had been strong and reknown fighters. This noble blood line had not bypassed him, and thus he had also aquired the near legendary ease with battleaxes that had served his family so well.
There seemed to hozever to be about 20 of the green skinned fiends; judging from the sound though, so if it came to battle, the outcome would be pretty obvious. Chances of survival were slim, and as the trolls came nearer, something strange happened. Mishrack slowly turned around to face the bare cliff, and uttered some eerie words. It seemed to him to be ancient dwarfish.
"Azed-ûm lelkhahawad
qethocq eokh lalech teth zaad-dûm"
And as the words were uttered, the very mountain seemed to oscillate, as a grand portal slid open. Not thinking twice about the odd occurence that had just taken place, Mishrack rushed inside - and away from the marauding trolls.
The portal slid shut without a sound behind him, and he found himself in an enormous dark cavern.

Mishrack
It took a little while before Mishrack's eyes got used to the complete darkness of the cavern he now found himself in, and even longer before he realised what had just happened.
Words unknown to him had spurted out of his mouth, opening a door he had never even heard of. It was al very strange.
"ah well" he thought, "at least I got away from the trolls...", So he started to look around, trying to figure out where he was.
The cavern seemed to be an entrance of sorts, with a grand ornate staircase leading down wards. After making sure he had all his belongings with him, he proceeded down the enormous stairs.
They seemed to him to carry on forever, but finally after a good half hour or so, he reached the bottom. These were not dwarf tunnels, that much he was sure of. The walls were grimey and the floor had some eerie liquid oozing out, and forming a little trickle.
He scouted around, but could see neither walls nor ceiling, only row after row of immense collumns. Walking off a bit, he decided to rest, he had not had time to do so before due to the insurection of the trolls.
Skillfully lighting a fire, he roasted some rabbits he had caught the day before, and after a good meal he dozed off to sleep.
Thus Ends Chapter one of the Mishrack Saga.
