entrails of a mummy or rotworm, then use a scissors with them *poof* you get a spool of thread. Or buy them from other players.

Eh... I can't seem to find this on search.
How exactly do you SMELT an ore? I have iron ore, copper ore, coal, and a hammer, yet I can't seem to be able to do anything except waste coal on the furnace.

You need a crucible and crucible pincers. And of course a mould to cast an ingot. Ask your local dwarf for more support.

Eh... They cost 1100 copper?! I have to either get that much copper or get 25 gold nuggets. I think the gold nuggets would be easier, but they DO seem hard to find...
Was I lied to about the price?

Why 25 nuggets?
A merchant can demand any prices. That's part of the game.

I've used the apple tree boards, fir tree boards, cherrytree branches, thread, leather, nails, wool and innards in all their many combinations and still cant make a short-bow. If it's not giving away too much could I have another hint please. I have asked in game but even master carpenters seem stumped (pardon the pun).

I've tried the plane and the carving tools. The bow doesn't appear with the plane. I've tried carving tools in hand and plane in belt. I've not tried both tools in hand yet so I'll try that. Thanks.
Edit : Ok that doesn't seem to work either. Try a different tack. Has anyone reading this actually managed to make a short-bow? Just so I know I'm not trying to create the uncreatable.

Carving tools, and needle, in hands, then thread and boars in BELT. Remember, it can't see things in your backpack.

Nope still no joy. Tried needle and carving tools in both hands with boards and thread in belt. Tried all boards and branches tried different orders in belt but still get the "you do not have the resources ready" message.
There may be something wrong with my char as I'm not hitting the you can't concentrate message any more. Not that I'm powergaming
.
I just find two carpentry trips hits the limit and then it's time to sit and chat a while. Well thanks for the help anyway.

Are the rumours about swordhandles being implemented already true?
If so... are they the item you have to craft to be called Grandmaster of Carpentry?
They seem to take a while to appear on the list

I still not see any roleplayreason why sword handles should be so difficult to make. There is nothing difficult at them.

Is tree planting implemented yet?
I've tried watering an apple to dead which ended up in the apple frowning at me and magically teleporting away

Yet another question...
Learning languages doesn't work yet, right?
A long time ago my Character understood a whole dwarven conversation, allthough he was human, but he doesn't anymore.

I don't think so, even the dwarf was surprised that I understood him and believe me, he didn't react as if he has planned to fool me like that.
You're giving me an evil idea to fool people though...

If you don't have the dwarfen language skill in your skill list, you can't understand him, if he switches the language with !l .
