I know that it is probably either in the works or has been suggested already
but just in case it hasn't, I think that what kind of armor you are wearing should
affect your speed, and possibly even how well you do things, you certainly
wouldn't see a knight in full plate armor digging in the soil running around and
craftting weapons, and a man in light leather armor would be able to outrun
him easily. So i would like it if you gave this some thought so famers aren't
standing around in plate armor.

i guess it already does.
Ever worn a plate and attacked something, than put off the plate and keep attacking ? You should see that your attack speed and hit chance improves.

well the actual attacking speeds are fine, but people
are running races in full plate mail! they are swimming
in the river while fully armored! madness i say!

I agree with your idea. Though the armour might make you so heavy that you'll have an easier time fishing
