I did some spitting in the old records, and I found this http://forum.illarion.org/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0.
Well it actually seems someone(don't know if he is here anymore) was named something like that, and Damien proposed it as a name.
Balamungo - or Trollsbane !
He was just proposing something here. And later on:
Perhaps we write it Troll's Bane - sounds even better !
Damien is actually the namegiver. Well Damien, give us a speech.
Trolls Bane was named after Udan Trollbane, king of the Ironhammers and famous dwarf of this island. as far as i know . his grave can be found at the street to the castle of the grey rose. visit it and speak a prayer for our beloved Udan .

Ask ingame your local dwarven storyteller to give you a short introduction to the person of Udan, the king who was never buried...
No offense, but such stories are to be told at a campfire, ingame. I hope many of you agree that such stories and tales should be spread ingame so they are never forgotten.
Personally I've never much been happy with the name Troll's Bane, and Troll's Vein (for the river), especially since there are not even any Trolls in the game! I suppose Ogres are the nearest thing but still, not Trolls.
Udan Trollbane was a kind of inspiration for the idea. In fact, if any troll would come into the village, it would be his doom. That explains the name.
