A question

I was murdered in a crowd of people by someone using a distance weapon....and no #me command was used. This is getting really damn annoying and makes me not even to want to use it (and I always take the time to use it, which really gives away that you are going to attack someone when you have to say, cocks the crossbow, aims it, loads a bolt into it, fires...etc etc)
Now, I have already sent my letter in, but when or will I even know if this person is found and if they are punished. I would just love to know who this is seeing as they cut me down with like two hits.

Perhaps an improvement for the next version of Illarion. Insted of having to use #me, it will automatically notify the other user that you launched an attack on them. It would show the person who is getting attacked something like "Someone(00000) is attacking you." or if you know the person the name will be displayed.

Just a thought.

ugh, I dont know...then it would be like the way magery was and the spam would be awful. Im sure everyone remembers the days of :

instead of all those, why don't you just use:

#me loads crossbow,

I use

#me notches an arrow

all the time, I use a bow though.

Well, it would be nice..except for when I was wasted today they didnt do a dang thing...and when I cam eback and asked ooc who killed me and why they didnt use the #me command..no one would fess up..which of course just made me even more mad

In magic a caster is sorrounded by sparks, so maybe the archer who is shooting is sorrounded by a green box, you know like the red box of who you are fighting.

Or anytime somebody with a distance weapon targets something it automatically says,

#me notches an arrow
#me loads crossbow

((only once when you target not when it fires))

I think I like the idea about the thing showing up around them like the magic sparks.....like when you attack someone it makes a clashing banging sound...so when you are firing a distance weapon it makes a thunk sound..like a bow firing and that big white thing appears

Yes the twang of a bow, good idea. The white thing is a good idea too.
