Naming Items
Maybe you should be name items, but only ones you make. If you are a smith name a sword differently and describe it when selling. Then the person can tell the differ between others items.

I'm not quite positive i understand what you mean. Naming a sword? And since all the swords are created the same, and the same sword is exactly the same as the same type of another sword, it doesn't matter who or how they were smithed, i don't see why it is nessessary to individualize your smithed items. If that is what your proposal is about.

Well it would be helpful. You have to roleplay. If you have a sword smithed by someone and you forgot which one was, You just grab anysword and say this was smithed by this guy. The point is that you roleplay that people smith swords differently there for they are a bit different. To height the experience people can draw graphics and have them posted some wehre on a website.
