Another smithing idea

Post by Gro'bul »

This only applies to items after the origional ones.

When you are able to make new items, you must have one of these items in you possesion as a reference to first make the new item. This will be required until you make your first item, then you will not need the example anymore. This will be required for every single one of the new items. Sounds irritating but very few poeple are hitting some metal and *poof* new plans for an existing weapons comes rushing into their brain.

Well maybe you could have descriptions of what you want to make.So you could buy it and after a while you had no more use of it.Because you can´t only rebuild something only you saw it do you?

Perhaps like the magic books work? Although perhaps we can have a picture of a scroll instead of a whole book. And you can buy them from the shop. Blueprints i mean. But i think they will have to be some way to identify your skill level to reference with the blueprints. Yes i know people are going to yell at me now for suggesting how 'unrealistic' that is *rolls eyes*. But i don't mean having it bring back the smthing bars, or a number system. But perhaps you can look at it before you buy and it will say this looks far too advanced for you, or this looks just beyond your skill at the moment. That way somebody doens't spend all this money on blueprints only to realise they can't smith the items. This IS realistic as somebody is a fairly good judge on what they can and can't do themselves.

Accually, I meant you can see what items you can smith, but if you try to smith an item that you don't have an example for, you can't. The plans would of course have names like "short sword plans", and you would look around at the items you can make, find "shortsword" and think "ah ok I can read this and it won't be a waste". You wouldn't need a status bar or such.
