A Syndicate is self-organizing group of individuals seeking to do business and to share a common purpose. The pursuit of profits, the betterment of Galmair, and the safety of our homes being those purposes.

Goals:
  • Defeat Zaras and their Kin
  • Defeat the demon Rhaegendas
  • Re-open normal business relations between Galmairians and other realms
  • Promote events and training in Galmair
  • Defend spaces that allow open business and discussion
  • Secure various strategic resources

Founding Principles:

Destroy Regional Evils: We are in dark times. Many of us are refugees from Gobaith and understand the wrath of evil. We now face regional threats such as dragons, demons, and the yearly war during Mas. Our founding members assisted the assault on Zaras and most survived. But this work is not over, and it may never truly be over.

Work Against Fanaticism: None argue against giving proper respect to the Gods. But aggressive fanaticism has taken hold in some areas of the realms. This extremism has led to oppression and demands for unnecessary battles. These ideologies have led to strife, injury, and fatigue in times of demons, dragons, and portals, officially making fanaticism a waste of valuable resources and a security threat to our region.We work to defend spaces that remain free from this blight.

Promote Business & Responsible Freedom: Trade is the first step to diplomacy and prosperity. We believe in making good deals and not making bad deals. We will maintain good relations with our business partners and work with diplomats from various realms to end taxation and bans on Galmairians abroad. One should never be above mutually beneficial diplomacy. We will also support responsible trade, speech, and action while condemning irresponsible speech and action. Anarchy is not freedom.

Conflict of Interest: As The Syndicate is open to all Galmairians it is possible, even likely, there may be overlap between our membership and those holding official duties within Galmair. Our members in such situations are not to engage in undue influence and hurt Galmair as a whole. When operating as an official of Galmair they are to make decisions for the benefit of all Galmair.

Statement on Free Trade:

It is well known around the region and beyond that trade is the foundational component for good relationships between peoples. Trade restrictions only lead to frustrations and poverty. Free and open trade is beneficial for all and the building block for a productive alliance(s) between the settlements of the realms in these times that are dangerous for all of us. One may believe that trade restrictions are a strategic tool but they only hurt everyone involved.

For these reasons we call upon the realms of Cadomyr and Runewick to do the following, or at least engage in negotiations with diplomats to do the following, given that no tool tax has been imposed by Galmair against Cadomyr or Runewick:
  • End unprovoked tool taxes on all Galmairians
  • End all spoken and unspoken trade restrictions on Galmairians
  • End bans on Galmairians who have not attacked your citizens since the battle
By attempting to accomplish the following the other realms will demonstrate their desire to build trust and good partnerships moving forward.
Events Next Dwarven Day:

All are encouraged to attend the War Games in one dwarven day being hosted by the Town Guard of Galmair to practice your skills and improve your strategic acumen. Following the games there will be a Map Hunt hosted by Mr. Arcia. Time and numbers permitting you may bring your big and huge treasure maps and get assistance from your fellow townsfolk.

Success!

A mix of members and citizens recently traveled around the outskirts of Galmair slaying dangerous creatures that were protecting huge treasures. About a dozen maps were discovered and completed with no injuries or casualties. Numerous magical gems were recovered. A total of 81 coins was collected and placed in the donation box. An additional 60 gold was donated through items of value recovered. In total approximately 140 gold was donated. We hope to continue these types of hunts every week.

If any members need assistance completing magic gem sets please see either Arcia or Fooser.

Memberships

The human named Dranis has joined as a new member and is now an endorsed carpenter and smith of the Syndicate. He has agreed to apologize to the lizard Qoa'tl'quet and his membership is conditional upon this happening. Further, others are warned the lizard Qoa is not to be harmed. The elf Floriel has joined as the endorsed potionmaker of the Syndicate. Please consult with Floriel first for all your potion needs and "Buy Galmair"! The human Bob Dreadheart has been removed due to his disciplinary situation and disappearance.

Support the Guard!

All are asked to support the guard by providing services and wares and also by attending the upcoming events recently announced by Captain Jefferson Gray.

Relations with Cadomyr:

The Merinium Syndicate applauds both the House of the Desert Fox and House of the Sea Serpent for recent efforts to improve relationships between the realms. We also thank Ssarney for removing the tool tax on Galmairians. We would also like to bring attention to a party hosted by Starling at the Hemp Necktie Inn titled "Zhambra's Table" to be held 2 Adras 47 6:00. It will be a large gathering with many current and former Cadomyrians.
Upcoming Events:

Support is encouraged for upcoming events which include a Guard Training hosted by Tyan Masines with assistance from Captain Jefferson Gray. Concerning the specifics Mr. Masines has stated "Since we went to Cadomyr for a joined maneuvre at the last drill session, we shall take up the expedition again this time. We will form a scouting party and explore the Northern Forest. The expedition may go as far as Pauldron Island, since skeletons might be coming from there, but we will be considerate of individuals new to combat.
If anyone would like to donate trasure maps for drill sessions, please see Commander Mitchell or Captain Gray about that." This training and expedition will be held 23rd Olos 47 - 12:00 pm. Afterwards a guild map hunt will be led by Arcia. Much of the proceeds will likely be donated to the town box.
Miscellaneous Announcements:
  • We would like to welcome former Baron Tyan Masines to the guild, he brings great wealth and experience.
  • Our members have promised to pledge up to 200 gold + any number of materials to Ms. Kyre and Ms. Pryler for continuing improvements to the Mage House should they need it, or to the next building project of the town if they do not.
  • Our members would like all to know that we are accepting new members, particularly new crafters or fighters looking to improve themselves. Our apprenticeships are a great learning experience for any and you will receive help with raw materials if you are a crafter. Any of us are willing to teach battle skills. For crafts we are currently teaching gemcutting, blacksmithing, goldsmith, glasswork, mining, and many others.

News:
  • Lady Camarisa has moved to Galmair to become an apprentice in the arts of war and perhaps some crafts as well. She is new to the region so please extend your patience and assistance to her.
  • The guild map hunt went fairly well, members attained a number of latent gems and donated over 80 gold in value to the Galmair donation box.
  • This is a reminder that "Zhambra's Table" celebration is tomorrow at the Hemp Necktie Inn for those who have been invited. We encourage all to behave fairly and calmly at this event.

The apprentice Camarisa has expressed to me a desire to be removed from the ranks of the syndicate. I did advise her to leave a note here on the board but as she's been insisting the organization's purpose is to spread dissension and cause trouble, I see no reason to wait.

Aye, I suppose she had better go. Just look at all the dissension and trouble caused by we! It's soooo catastrophic. Shucks, I don't know how she even managed to build the courage to sign up in the first place! Our land is in utter chaos because the of the syndicate! Aaarrghh.
