Warning: Prophet of Ushak-Sskhath

Post by Vern Kron »

Citizens and nearby towns,

It is with heavy heart that I have to announce more trouble in our fair lands. There is a prophet lizard, claiming to be under directives of Ushak-Sskhath, raising trouble in our town. While it is one thing to bring forth your faith and to share it, it is entirely another to threaten, coerce, and claim that cleansing can only come to those that he sends to the cross. He claims to have cleansed one in our town already, one that he claims steals blood. In my eyesight, he has also threatened a chancellor, as well as myself. As a result, this new arrival has been banished from town for one dwarven day.

For the other towns, be careful. There is one who claims he is one of you, and that he acts to 'cleanse the world' through this violent path. He has also claimed some attachment to Ssar'ney, or it has been inferred. This is in no way an accusation against Ssar'ney, but a statement that someone may be tossing his name about without his knowledge.

This lizard is of a dark blue hue, and carries an axe. It is reported that while he is not particularly talented with said axe, he is able to swing it hard. He also apparently enjoys tracking individuals, as he claims he tracked me with his nose. He was last seen exiting the town towards the south, to fish.

A scribe is paid handsomely to copy the parchment then a raven drops it off at the House of the Sea Serpent ..

Baron of the House of the Sea Serpent ... Baron des Hauses der Seeschlange,

Are you sending your lizards to Galmair? If not they are claiming you are.

The supposed lizard prophet named Nokh'tar is neither a member of the House of the Sea Serpent, nor do his words align with the teachings of the Zelphia and Her Firstborn or even the will of Her Chosen One.

Ones soul can not be cleansed of the stones that are the sins of mortals by meeting the young Gray Lady, for she only hands souls to their respective patron deities and they only are to decide what happens with the souls of their followers. Those souls handed to Zelphia and deemed ready for afterlife by the Mother then are trialled by success or failure of crossing Her eternal ocean, burdened by the stones that are the sins of mortals and the inability to breathe the eternal waters. Those of most exceptional deeds for Her may be granted a boat for their passage, but the only way to be lifted of the burden of sins is for another to carry them on their own trial or to make it through the eternal ocean with them.

While slaying those standing against the Goddess is indeed in Her will, if they refuse to repent and turn to a path of purity and faith, so She Herself told twice, it does not cleanse them. It merely cleanses the world of their impurity. Claiming that inflicting wounds by sending people to the cross does cleanse those harmed and is the will of the Goddess or her Firstborn is heresy.

The House of the Sea Serpent does offer ten coins of gold for bringing forth this heretic prophet to the Templewarrior or the High-Priestess.
It might be noted that the House is rather busy fighting the invasion of the Fallen Gods forces in the Cadmyrian deserts, so both might be found there, if not resting and preparing for battle.

In the name of the Templewarrior,

  • ~Lettarius
    • Scribe of the Third House

A Hafling hangs a parchment underneath , then he jumps happily with a few silver coins in their hands of it, and mutters something of cake . What remains is a Orcess , the new notice nor shall look on a moment skeptical .

Citizen from Galmair

The Lizard , named Nokh'tar has already indiscriminately attacked citizens of Cadomyr .
He Maybe get a club on the head . One should be careful in any case .

On behalf of the Orcess called Shan'ti
