A note is pinned at Runewick Guard House:

Image

An unholy army is about to attack Illarion.
Cadomyr has stepped up to take the blow. We are obliged to help them.
1. All capable fighters, apart from Brassius Meres, should help protect Cadomyr when the army strikes.
2. Refugees from Cadomyr should be quartered in Runewick. Beds and food should be provided.
3. Logs and other resources should be sent to Cadomyr to strengthen its defenses.

Olaf Andvarefoss, Runewick ranger.

We are unable to provide shelter at this time, as the entirety of Runewick's outlying lands are covered with the mummies of madness. There have been sightings of the cultist known as Nostarion so be also warned of this. Rangers should be encouraged to keep an eye on the mummy population, but to take great care in doing so. There is nothing that can be done about the mummies until the end of Mas, it would be too risky to escort refugees into the town.

A raven missing only a few feathers, delivers a parchment to be pinned to the board obviously not seeing the previous messages.....

The Quadruped Red Bird and Yewdale are surrounded by mummies of different kinds. Due to the madness issue we recommend avoid killing and there are too many to step lightly though if you wish to try, Cherga may see you before making it to the teleporter or Runewick.

Looking out the window frowning and hoping some to walk away, making sure the doors remain locked, the witch counts the days of Mas mumbling...

Might be a long wait.

Even though Runewick itself is under attack by the demons of the Mas, it is important to support the realm that suffers most from the attacks. For once one of the cities is lost to the dark power, it is missing as support for the other cities. I therefore ask our fighters to regard the Mas as a common fight against the dark forces.
