In the upper right corner is a circular map. I figured out that red and yellow circles mean npc's. What I haven't understood is the occasional red arrow heads that appear and seem to shift around the circumference of the map. Also, sometimes there are one or more arrow heads and sometimes none at all. Can someone tell me the significance of these arrow heads, please?

Uh, those are quest-pointers I think? Red showing where you need to go to solve quests. Yellow being NPCs related to quests? Something like that.

Your active quest is marked with those arrows. Once you are close enough to the spot they point at are on the map, they will turn to a dot.
