Druid House Scrolls

Post by Silo »

A few questions regarding the scrolls (and sealed scrolls) in the Druid House.

First: Do they make you lose skill every time you open them, every time you turn the page, or... what?

Second: All I'm getting is a bunch of gibberish. Yes, this is usually from not being able to read something, and no, my character doesn't have a very high library research skill. However, I'm wondering if the inability to read comes from the lack of library research skill, a too-low alchemy skill, or my character not knowing the language. I'm assuming my character would be able to tell the difference. (Has enough library research skill to be able to recognize common&human languages, and enough alchemy skill to realize if something's a bunch of alchemy jargon).

You need both library skill and different languages to read the scrolls.

Sadface. Are there any hints as to what language for each, or is this a find out ingame moment?

You need some library skill to read the books which no skill is lost and can be pretty helpful. Every time you open a scroll you loose some skill though the choice is random regarding exactly which skill, and nobody knows which scrolls are which language. I have found fairy and goblin in the past (though the language may be switched arbitrarily also for all I know :D ).

Bah. Looks like I'll go back to the guessing method for recipes. Scrolls don't seem worth it at all.

I know. But I'm totally brilliant, so it doesn't even matter.

Eh. Neither seem really active, and my character doesn't quite fit the stereotype well enough to be accepted, I believe. We shall see!
